I really love this cinema light box, looks great on my kids wall and comes with lots of letters and emojis. It lights up great with the usb cord, however I had an issue with the battery compartment. The way the plastic pieces separate the individual batteries, makes it too loose so that the positive and negative ends of the batteries don't completely touch and so the light didn't turn on. (At least with my Kirkland brand batteries it didn't work). I contacted the seller and they quickly sent me a new one and refunded the money, which I really appreciate, but the battery compartment design was the same with the new one. There are two solutions to this problem, but do it at your own risk,- you could put a thick piece of tinfoil in between the middle batteries to make the connection (might be a hazard though?), or with some small pliers you can easily remove the small pieces of plastic so that the spring will push the all the batteries together so that they touch completely, and the light will turn on then. But obviously you can't return it or anything if you do that, and can't really give as a gift then. (The company says not to use it or tamper with it though if the batteries don't work with the light box). I communicated with the seller a lot about this design issue and they said they will let their production team know about this to hopefully fix this issue. But maybe other people's batteries work fine in it. Their customer service is amazing though, so don't hesitate to buy it because they will help you out if there is a problem.

I don't like glaring overhead lights in my office, so I use lamps. I don't want bright light...but want it to feel welcoming (not dark & creepy!) to clients. After positioning lamps in my new office, I found that one area needed more light. After looking for weeks for a wall light, I found nothing that would work. Then I found this Cinema Light Box! IT'S GREAT!! Bright enough to add light to the area, as I'd hoped...but not glaring at all. The bolder font of the letters is easier to read than similar offerings by other companies. The emojis are fun, too. I'll use it to advertise events and put up "encouraging words." Worked right out of the box. Perfect size for my needs, very lightweight too. Put it up yesterday morning with HAVE A GREAT DAY! I'm it. It's a small office, so my coworkers noticed it immediately. So did the realtor down the hall--he loved it & asked where I got it. It's the light I needed, and a clever, eye-catching way to communicate a message. And it's fun & easy, under $25. Kids would love it, but they can get their own--it's become a topic of conversation in less than 48 hours. Very pleased with this purchase! PS: mine uses the USB cord plugged into the wall with adaptor --I don't want to buy batteries. The light box can also run on batteries if you're somewhere without electricity.

We got this for a late white elephant gift exchange because we couldn't fly out to our friends' house due to severe weather. Our friend who ended up with this gift has been having a blast with it. He's been messaging us pictures of all the phrases and inappropriate comments he's been putting on the sign.

I bought this with high hopes after seeing so many great reviews. After purchasing I found that the cord this came with was just about 6-8 inches too short for my purposes, which was no fault of its own but was very frustrating. So, I decided to put batteries in it as an alternate solution.However, the plastic on this thing is so cheap and flimsy that it barelyholds the eight batteries in at all. The results this gives is flickery inconsistent light which is very annoying. When the batteries aren't barely held into place (where about 4 hang out of the back) the whole thing justpops off and explodes 8 AA batteries everywhere. It's just cheap, not worth 20 bucks. 2 stars because besides lighting it, it's very cute and fun to play with.Update! I recieved a personal letter and a longer cord in the mail. The company took inititive and the customer service was amazing. They even added the longer cord to all production further! This was very impressive to me and I recommend this much more now!

Box is clearly well built with a nice USB power adaptor or batteries. In my opinion what makes this item better than others is it includes multiple letter & emoji sets so there should be less of an issue crafting phrases with requiring redundant letters. Additionally, the letters provided are all printed on nice plastic.Recommendation:i) to help more quickly find the letters for completing a message I would get some Avery business card plastic sheet holders for putting the letters in. This makes an amazing difference even though the letters are nicely packaged with a durable cardboard holder.ii) when separating the letters initially I would "carefully" pull them apart as they have a nice plastic coating on them. Although this plastic coating can be removed if you pull the letters carefully you do not need to remove the plastic film.

I love this Cenema Light Box! I had been to a hotel last year that had one of these in their rooms and we enjoyed putting messages up on it. I have been thinking about getting one and so glad I did! This Light box is fantastic! I enjoy leaving my family messages on it and getting them in return. It is a lot of fun! I have put it in my kitchen, on the counter, right next to my outlet that has a usb port. I was going to originally hang it on a wall, but this is working out great! Having it on the counter makes it accessable to my 7 year old, who loves to use it as well! Great fun, great value, product is just as I desired!

The product was exactly what I thought it would be. I wish that it had a more permanent pouch to hold the letters, after they are separated. The clear wrapping that holds the letters and the cardboard envelope that were packaged inside of, is only a temporary solution.
