This thing eats concrete but is still very easy to control. I used it to take down about 1/4-1/2" on the edge of a concrete wall to prepare for flooring. The only bad part was all the dust it created.It doesn't kickback and is controllable enough that you could even smooth out a surface in an aesthetic way if you wanted to.

I used this to smooth out the concrete floor just below where my garage door seal contacts the cement floor. It worked good for the first couple of feet but, after that, it got much slower. I haven't finished the job yet because it took quite an effort to grind the cement. I believe that if it had more diamonds on it that it would work much faster, thereby, making it much easier to use.

Perfect for cleaning up old thin-set off a concrete slab. I pulled up 900 sq feet of tile, it was a bear of a job, with lots of thin-set left on the floor, even after meticulously using an air chisel it was far from smooth with many raised peaks and valleys. Put this on my angle grinder and I took a bucket of water and a rag and liberally soaked in a 2x2 area at a time and went over it with this grinding cup and it smoothed it out like butter. There is a fine line between slinging sludge all over your house or creating a dust bowl so it takes a little trial and error. This worked flawlessly and my floors came out perfectly flat and my lvp laid down perfectly. I highly recommend this for smoothing out slabs.
