Racetrack- Pretty PERFECT..exactly what I was looking for!!
I've had this about 4 months now, and still love it!! This one is perfect for us and our needs, kitties r def more hydrated, and there's NO MORE TAP LICKING!! Such a great purchase!!---In depth details----Needed to get my kitties a fountain, as one of them seemed to always refuse to drink water from the bowl and I would only ever see her licking the taps for water, eww...and I knew she wasn't getting enough hydration, which isn't good for her or our noses (as the pee smell from the litter box is stronger/more concentrated when they aren't hydrated enough)..So I knew I needed to try a fountain to get her to drink more and to stop licking taps (one of the reasons I chose this one, it looks just like a SINK SPOUT, and since she already loves licking sink taps, it was the obvious design choice..brilliant design)!! And it worked, she loves it!! Which btw, if u want, u can actually take the spout off and have it just bubble out (as shown in one of my pics), but I think mine prefer the spout..also to note, without the spout it's def more audible (in a kinda soothing, but fast moving water feature, kinda way)..so it is a bit louder that way..-Having had multiple pets for yrs now, I knew a LARGE FOUNTAIN was a must, so I wouldn't b filling the thing twice a day..Soo many of the fountains I looked at just didn't actually hold much water at all, but this one def does the trick, it's huge, I only have to fill it every few days (and rn I have 2 cats and a dog, but the dog seems to only use his big water jug, like he knows this is for the kitties lol, but 2 cats drinking and it only needs refill every few days is pretty awesome)..and this is easy to fill, I just use a large cup and pour the water straight onto the top of it (not too fast to avoid overflow)..I used to take the top off then carry the basin to the sink to fill, then bring it back n replace the top, but the cup thing seems a lil easier (a small pitcher would actually b perfect)...-U can check the WATER LEVEL with the provided WINDOW (another reason I got this exact one) as sum had no window at all, which would def make it harder to know when it's low (unless you're constantly taking the top off to check the water level, u would only really know it's low when u start to hear the motor get louder from being low on water, which isn't good for the motor, u aren't supposed to let it get low or run out). so with this one with the window, I can better see when it's getting low BEFORE it causes issues...also, the lil window is lit up by a lil blue LED, tho during the day u can't really see it and u kinda have to get down toward the ground to see the water level, but at night it's a nice lowlight with a much more visible water level (but it isn't so bright it would disturb anyone, if it's in your room or whatever)..-I also chose this one because it's stainless steel (excellent decision), as I have read about (and seen pics of) the plastic ones getting gross (with the kinda stuff that doesn't come off n looks grimmy), plus plastic is much more breakable!!...so for CLEANLINESS and DURABILITY, I DEFINITELY recommend STAINLESS!!! Not to mention it looks so much sleeker n nicer than plastic...speaking of cleaning:-This thing was easier to clean than I imagined!! As I said I've had this for 4 months, and lil over a month ago I cleaned/filter changed it for the first time (yes it recommends cleaning/changing filter more often than that, but I really don't see doing it AS OFTEN as they say (which I believe it says to do it every 2wks) to be actually necessary, espec since mine wasn't very dirty after 3 months with 2cats..I really don't think u need to do it as often as it says (but maybe a bit sooner than I did the first time, cuz I kinda forgot about it for a lil while, but it really didn't look bad)..so I referred back to the instructions on the cleaning, it was pretty simple, take a few things apart n wipe it out with sponge n dish soap, being careful not to get any soap near motor or filters, as I said, mine wasn't even very dirty but the messiest part was the black motor filter sponge thingy, as it had some hairs that were stuck on it, so I thoroughly rinsed that out (it didn't need replacing yet, just a good rinse n pulling off sum hairs)..then I replaced the lil white filter (follow instructions, u soak it n such first), which this fountain actually comes with a few of those replacement filters, which is cool!! and I looked it up (here on the page for this fountain u can click on replacements for it), and it isn't expensive to get more, it's a pretty low price to buy a multi pack, and u get like 8 white filters n 8 black sponge filters (the black filters say to replace only half as often as the white ones, n really could last longer cuz u can just rinse out the black one tho I can see it eventually breaking apart) for only like $14 (as of right now)..so for a low price, which will last maybe like a year (all depending on how diligent u wanna b with cleaning/filter replacing) u can get the replacement filters u need.. So I got it all cleaned and filter changed in a small amount of time (I think u can even throw the basin and top into dishwasher, but I'd just rather hand wash it)..it also tells u to pull the motor apart (only slightly, it's not difficult) then use a tiny brush (or I think I used a Q-tip since I didn't have a tiny brush) to clean the inside of this small piece, but when I did it, mine had no dirt or grime or any hair or anything at all inside that small part, even after going much longer than suggested before cleaning, so that's cool..when I was finished I used my handy label maker to date the last cleaning n stuck it on the back of the fountain..*TIP- if u have limescale build up at all (because this is stainless steel after all) u can use vinegar to clean it off (I learned that lil trick when I was using my baby bullet steamer yrs ago), just soak it in vinegar for a while n wipe off any remaining limescale, it comes right off...-btw, that green leaf mat is PERFECT for this fountain!! It fits beautifully, and it has high sides to contain any water spillage, and it's a very thick durable plastic that u can just easily wipe clean or hand wash in sink, I really couldn't ask for a better mat!! I searched for mats for quite a while (here on Amazon), and while this is actually marketed to go with that lil flower fountain, it's just perfect for this fountain (and this is a much better n bigger fountain than that small plastic flower one)..the sides on this mat r much higher than all the other mats I saw, and it's much thicker than the rest, and it's cute..I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MAT AND THIS FOUNTAIN!!-There's just a FEW MINOR things that could improve this product (nothing big enough to warrant any star deductions tho, cuz this really is the best option out there)...•cord placement-instead of the cord coming outta the side (by the spout) it would b a bit nicer if it was just in the back of the fountain, but I suppose it needs to b by the spout cuz that's where the motor is, which needs the power obvi, so ig it has to b that way..at least you're able to switch sides with the spout/motor part, u can flip the top piece to be on the other side of the basin, which helps a lil if u want the cord to come from the other side depending on which side your outlet is on..it would just b a bit better aesthetically if it just came from the back..•the window could b larger, to better see the water level (but at least it has a window at all).•the LED for the window could b brighter to better see the water level (espec when it's daylight out), tho I suppose some ppl wouldn't want it brighter if they have it in their bedroom or something, so maybe if it had the option to turn the brightness up and down, that would b perfect..but still, at least it has some lighting at all, and it looks cool..I wonder how long it will last..•I kinda feel it should come with that tiny brush that u need to clean out that one lil part inside the motor..it would b a thoughtful addition, considering u need that brush, but to buy one separate is kinda hard, cuz it's hard to tell if any of those lil brushes will b the exact size ya need n not b too large (cuz when u look at the diff options on here, they ARE diff sized small brushes for fountains apparently)..none of the brushes r made specifically for THIS fountain/motor...so I feel that lil brush should at least b included (would b even cooler if it came with EVERYTHING u need to clean it- a brush or two and a lil sponge, but it should have at least the tiny brush, I feel, espec cuz I prob should b using that same tiny brush to clean out the inside of the long spout, which I haven't been able to do yet aside from just running the soapy water thru it, but common sense tells me it will eventually need to b cleaned better than what I can do without a brush)..but I DO APPRECIATE that they at least include a few replacement white filters, cuz that's not something they HAVE to do ya know..and it's nice when it's time to clean it, espec for the first time, that u at least have the white replacement filter already..-ALL IN ALL this is an EXCELLENT FOUNTAIN, and imo, it's the BEST CAT FOUNTAIN OPTION OUT THERE (and I researched a TON of diff fountain options before deciding on this one), tho I'm now seeing this seller has added a "racetrack 2" option here, which looks like it might b exactly the same as this one, but with the spout on the back instead of the side, which means the cord would come from the back, which might actually b slightly better than this version, and it looks a bit more rounded on the sides, but says it holds the same 3.2L of water, so I'm thinking it would prob also b a very good option (tho I can't speak from experience on that one)...but anyways, I'm so glad I decided on this fountain, for so many reasons it really is perfect for all our needs in every way..and I actually see both our kitties drinking from it, which is a huge improvement on the one cat that used to refuse to drink water unless it was from licking a tap (and I have not seen her lick a single tap since getting this, plus I know it has made an improvement on the strength of the cat pee smell, and on their health, yay!!!)...those improvement recommendations I have made are very MINOR, just small tweaks that would make it even more perfect... But as I said, this really is the best out there!!! Highly recommend...I would buy it all over again, and if anything happens to this one, I def will..or maybe the newer- race track 2 version ;)-Hopefully my review has been helpful, as I appreciate the reviews that have helped me decide on these kinda purchases, so hopefully I can help too :)

Filters are easy to change. All stainless steel and easy to disinfect and clean.
This replaced a smaller one and I really like the large capacity of this fountain. Less re-filling during the week. I clean it weekly and it is easy. Also can go through the dishwasher. The pump cleans out easily as well. Cats like it and drink better amounts of water.

Worth every penny
Have an old cat who has drug the water bowls around the house for years. Got this for her 17th birthday and she FINALLY stopped messing with the water bowl. Should have gotten this years ago. Also believe she’s drinking more water

Best cat fountain this far
I only received it today so I cannot speak for longevity, but it's super durable and my cats live it. I've had numerous plastic fountains. This is far superior. Will buy a second one. Even my catvthat normally doesn't drink out the fountains is drinking from this one! Hope it lasts.

Get a silicone mat with it
I’m love that it is stainless steel and easy to clean. It was also very easy to assemble. It functions as it’s supposed to. But my cat is too playful/curious/mischievous. He swats at the water flow constantly and gets water all over the floor. He uses it as a toy rather than a drinking fountain.Bottom line: 5 stars for the fountain, 4 stars for the mess my cat makes with it

Very happy
Our cats love it and the ability to see the water level is a wonderful feature.

Love it
Our cats love this fountain. It's very quiet, we don't even notice it running. It can be difficult to see the water level through the little window.

Best thing I’ve ever bought for my cats
The media could not be loaded. I have well water and understandably, like most cats, they much prefer cleaner water. If there is a bowl or cup that has bottled water that’s what they’re drinking. It was a constant battle to keep them off the counters and out of the water. I have one cat who absolutely loves drinking water as it’s being poured into his bowl but it always came out too fast for him to enjoy. So I began the hunt for a filtered water fountain. Best purchase I’ve ever made for them. The orange cat in the video took to it immediately. The first night I had it he couldn’t get enough. He was very excited to be able to actually drinking from the water pouring out of the fountain. He doesn’t ever drink from the bowl part. The other cats took a few days to get used to it. After the first night they realized it was the only way for them to get water so they started to drink only from the very edge of the bowl. The other cat didn’t drink from it for a couple days. She kept going in the bathtub looking for leftover water. I kept the door closed for a day and she finally started drinking from the bowl of the fountain. Now they all use it with no problems. The orange cat is the only one who drink from the fountain part tho but that’s ok cuz he’s the only one I wanted that feature for anyway. But the fountain part does come off so there is just a little bubbling at that hole if your cat is really adverse to using it with it on.PROS: It is smaller than I expected but it does hold about 60 ounces of water and it lasts my 4 cats 6 days. It’s nice to not have to refill twice a day anymore. Or fish soggy food out of. I have decided to buy gallon jugs of water instead of using my well water so the filter will last longer and the water is as fresh clean as possible. The water drains from the bowl directly through the filter so the water gets cleaner and cleaner as it’s pumped through. All the reviews talk about how quiet it is but I didn’t know if it meant just the machine itself or the water hitting the bowl from the fountain so I was nervous cuz the falling water sound would’ve drove me insane. Well I’ll be the one to address this and say the whole thing is completely silent. Even standing right next to it I have to really listen to hear the water. There is no sound from the pump at all. The only time there’s any kind of noise is when it’s empty you can hear it struggle to pick up the water. But that’s ok cuz then I know it’s time to refill. But even that is pretty quite. It also has a big window so you can easily look and see the water level. The stainless steal option was a must so it doesn’t hold onto any odors and it is easy to clean. The filter and pump detach easily so it makes washing it a breeze and it’s even dishwasher safe.CONS: the only thing I don’t like about this and the reason for only 4 stars is the plug is a usb plug. I’m so tired of almost everything these days using a usb. Even tho it did come with an adapter it’s just another adapter I have to keep up with and it’s big-ish so the only outlet I could use is behind a cabinet that I now have to keep several inches away from wall. There’s no reason it can’t have a regular plug
