Here are the interior measurements!
I’ve looked at this chest for a long time and finally decided to buy one. My sterling collection has grown, and I want to have my pieces together and easily visible. I received the mahogany one. The model is 43M and it's lovely. The unit arrived in perfect shape. I examined the composition with a hand lens, and it is a good wood veneer over MDF. I replaced the tiny footie bumpers with ¾” ones so I can lift it more easily. I lined the bottom of both the top section and top drawer with tarnish cloth so I'll have no tarnish worries. I also keep desiccant packs with my silver since I often open the chest. INTERIOR measurements are in inches - Top Section:13 5/8 wide, 10 ¼ deep, 2 5/8 high (including the lid). The slots are 3/8 wide & 1 3/8 holding height. I fit 12 cream soup spoons in one. The knife section is 10 3/8 high with 5/8 individual width. These easily held modern and French blade knives (9 ¼). The spreader slots accommodate my hollow handle style. Both drawers are 12 ¾ wide and 9 ¼ deep. The height is 1 5/8. The top drawer’s slots are 3/8 wide & 1 high. The bottom drawer’s partitions are 2 3/8 wide with a side height of 3/4. This allows wider servers to be placed at an angle. There is also room to store a piece greater than 9 ¼ by balancing it on top of the partitions. I think that balancing the middle section (top drawer) on the lowest section (pull them both out) will save wear and tear on the slide supports when I need something from the middle section. There is a bottom - thin hardboard, I think. See my photos. I know I’m going to have fun playing with this lovely piece. I wonder how many ways I can organize my flatware.

A great product !
This silver chest is great ! Reed and Barton knows what a silver chest needs to do for you and they have done it well without breaking your wallet with this silver chest ! I have had it for a few months and not a dot of tarnish through a hot and humid summer ! It holds my grandmothers silver set plus extra peices. It is a bit less roomy inside than mine which is now almost forty years old. Mine also cost 250.00 forty years ago and is solid cherry . That said I would have no problem displaying this chest next to my old one . I am very happy that I could fit so much into it. I was worried after reading some reviews since I needed the chest for an old silver set plus extra serving pieces . This product surpassed my expectations . I am very pleased with it as I wanted all to fit . I wanted something attractive . And most of all I wanted a chest which was well treated to be tarnish free . I would highly reccomend purchasing this product . It's a bargain . Thank you Reed and Barton for making this affordable and functional silver chest .

Good chest, poor shipping
This is a generally high quality chest with lots of well padded room and drawers for all your silver (the tarnish-free cloth is a nice touch and was well inserted). However, when it was shipped, it was dropped, hard, on one corner and not only did it put a major ding in the wood on one corner, it also broke the face off the bottom drawer. Apparently the drawers are glued on and this one did not even have a reinforcing dowel to bind the drawer face to the drawer! It broke completely off. And even then, the shippers dropped it with such force that it cracked the wood along one side. As I said, good product but not ready for much abuse. Could use a little more attention to the glue aspect and especially in regards to shipping. (To Amazon's credit, they authorized return instantly, shipped me a new one before I even had the chance to send the old one back, and reimbursed me the shipping. THAT made all the difference. Well done Amazon. That creates repeat customers.) RWS

Beautiful Case
This case is beautiful. It holds my gold plated flatwear perfectly (set of 12). I bought it to replace the case I received as a wedding gift 55 years ago. I have only had it for a few days so I can't speak for its durability but it is a nice addition to my collection of China and flatwear.

Poor quality control
The first chest was beautiful and perfect for what I wanted but it had a defect right on the top in a noticeable place. If it had been on the side I might not have bothered to request a return. But I did and Amazon very nicely sent me another chest. Unfortunately this one looks perfect but has a terrible moldy smell, so moldy it triggered my asthma. I called Amazon again and this time they gave me a refund. I appreciate Amazon making things better but now I have to look all over again for a different hopefully better quality chest. I chose Reed and Barton partly based on their name history of quality and also on generally positive reviews but I am very disappointed. Hope you have better luck.
