She loved it!
Bought this for a godddaughter (age 8 1/2). She loved it. Immediately got pencil and paper and started drawing her favorite dog breeds.

Useful book.
This simplifies drawing different breeds of dogs. I like this book better than the drawing fifty kinds of people because with the people I could have used a simple set of instructions to be able to draw humans--any human bodies in different positions not just bodies in costumes that maybe couldn't be generalized for other situations and periods. The dog breed pictures give a good look at the pertinent characteristics of each breed described.

If you love your dog how fun would it be to draw her?
I cant wait to start drawing JellyBean in her silly clothes, hats and necklaces.

Students love dogs.
I used this both as an art teacher and as a reading teacher. Boys and gilrs love to draw animals. In art, they need to really see and notice detail, and they have to persevere until they get it right. In reading, they have to do the art skills, and follow directions. Since it's non-fiction, it fits in with today's education trends. Kids love to draw whether they're in art class or reading class, and how special is it to be able to use this as a reading teacher? Your male students will love you.

A Beginner Book - Sort Of
I got this to help me learn to draw dogs and to practice for an art class I'm having to take. It is a good basic primer, but I don't think it's all that great or instructive. Actually, there are NO instructions and some of the finished drawings I would consider intermediate and not beginner. It's all by sight and following the red lines that the artist/author has drawn. The first two steps of most of the drawings are easy to follow. As things get more detailed, it's a little harder to follow on some of the illustrations. And on some of them, by the end, it's impossible to tell where your initial red/drawing lines are supposed to be. It's decent, but not great, in my opinion.

Great tool for drawing!
My girls, 8 and 10, love these books! They are always bringing them home from the school library so we started buying them ---they are also great to take on trips! Love all the different choices like how to draw cats, undersea creatures and mythical creatures!

Muy simple de entender
Es un libro sencillo y práctico para entender las formas básicas de los perros, en especial si tenemos en cuenta que las especies a veces son muy diferentes entre sí.Excelente para entender lo básico e iniciarse en los dibujos de perritos.

Fabulous drawing book for kids who love dogs
I have an 8 year old grandson who is crazy about dogs and is getting one in the summer. He loves drawing and I bought this book for him as part of a Christmas gift. I like the author's step by step way to teach kids how to draw. It is simple and easy to follow.
