Value for money
Item was delivered very swiftly indeed and have to say the service from this company was more than excellent especially from Ian.Product is easily erected and looks good when up. I do take the point that the sliding plastic unit may be a little weak but as with most things just be a little careful and I think it will be fine, any doubt then buy matching colour duck tape and bind it . No one will ever know.I had an issue with me being available to accept delivery so I contacted the company, nothing was too much trouble for them and my problem was solved immediately. Also I mentioned that I was buying another parasol as I had had the base for the one I own stolen so a replacement was required. This company offered to send me another base. At the very least this is great customer service.I am more than prepared to recommend this company to anyone and HEY I have no connection with them.Addendum .. The base has arrived thank you for your efforts guys I really appreciate it.This is a good company I think...

Not the real original price?
The price stated here before discount is £395.00, however the actual Okita website is selling this pre sale price for £270, that's full price, and currently at £145.00. It did go together very easily, but as other review have noted the. Plastic securing lever..... Will it last? Also, will double check, but hadn't read that you needed to secure the base with 4 concrete slabs to stop it tipping over when open.

Why use plastic components on load bearing parts
This is a stylish, elogant and sturdy piece of garden furniture. One problem I can see with it's design, is the manufacturer decided to use a moulded plastic sleeve as part of a compression joint which locks and keeps the lower extension arm in place when in use. This arm enables the upper part of the parasol mechanism extend out as seen in the picture, imobilising it so the parasol can be opened in a level position. On inspection, the moulded plastic sleeve undergoes imense pressures in it's locked position. This has a tendancy to strain the plastic causing it to 'whiten' from its grey colour along a stress line. In view of this, careful handling and regular inspection of the furniture is required as one can't guess 'time to failure', or what may result should the parasol fail while in use.A second problem that demands attention, and is something the manufacturer has stated, is the need for anchorage. This is a heavy peice of equipment which boasts a large parasol which acts a s a 'sail' when extended. As a temporary solution to a potentially dangerous occurance, I have decided to use four 20kg sand bags inside bergens to anchor the parasol... otherwise, drill and bolt to the floor for a permanent fix... so far... so good.
