The Ferro rod throws lots of sparks. It’s small and not replaceable. At roughly $4 each, though, you don’t care. The brilliant think is the magnesium block. It works as a sheet stone snd is soft enough you can create a teaspoon of powder in two minutes. That will ignite with ease & is super hot. Better than a lighter

Works, flints fall out and have to be super glued back in place. Striker is painted and painted steel doesn't create sparks on a fero rod. Someone clearly didn't think this through. Fixed them up by sanding paint off striker and gluing flints in place and replacing half of the broken bead chains.

Have yet to use this, but it looks like it will get the job done.

For the price, I shouldn't be surprised. Still, perfect for everyone's go bag. Now time to teach them how to use them. I always have them handy to spark a gas burner instead of worrying about soggy matches.
