Great movie

I always enjoy Robert Rodriguez films, and this is no exception! Zombies are taking over and the good guys try to find the cause of their creation and stop them before it's too late. Although this may seem a familiar plot, it's handled in a unique way as may be expected from Robert Rodriguez. If you don't like Quentin Tarantino, you'll find him just as irritating as usual - he seems to enjoy his part as a sex offender rather too much. (I'm not sure I trust method actors.) The film is shot as though you are watching a well worn 'B' movie at the type of rundown local cinema that used to exit (anyone remember The Concorde Cinema in Bristol?) I now want to see the film that's the subject of the spoof trailer at the beginning! Anyone used to Robert Rodriguez films may enjoy spotting actors he's worked with previously. I normally ignore the DVD extras, but in this case they are very interesting - some of the actors are people Robert Rodriguez knows in his personal life such as his doctor, and the little boy is played by his son, and the little boy's pets are hos son's pets etc. I'm very pleased I bought this DVD.

Robert Rodriquez took a long shot with this one and I truly hope that this won't be the last we see of Grind house!I know, I know, thin plot, not much in terms of characters and all that - blah blah! But hell, this movie is so much fun! When ever I have a really bad day, all I have to do is watch the spoof trailer for "Machete" and things are better again. PS - I truly hope we will see the feature one day! I can only imagine all the bad one liners that will come out of that one, like: "God has mercy, I don't!"Planet terror is racy, daring and it lets you relive a "different" side of the history of movies - being Grind House of course.It takes skill to make a movie look bad, without it being bad and Robert mastered this! The movie takes cheese and makes endless fun of it, without it being corny. So, get some of your best mates together, fire up the old home theatre system and have your own Grind House at home! Even better, if you can get your setup to work in the garden, then try it. It is so much fun watching the film under a starry night sky, pretending you are at the Drive in. Robert gave the movie a real Grind House feel by adding special filters to give an authentic "damaged film reel that looks like it has been to hell and back" look to the film, which I simply love!My only regret is that I could not see this in the cinema, as our local movie theatre didn't show it.I'm a huge fan of Robert Rodriquez and if you - like me - like things that are different and a bit on the off side, then watch this one!"Action, suspense....emotion" Classic!

There's some kind of Planet Terror renaissance going on - I had to order this from Amazon as the day I went into HMV to buy it they had sold all their copies (7) that morning. Having finally watched it, I can understand why.Robert Rodriguez makes a very special kind of film - irreverent, gross, subversive, outrageous, packed with great music and full of truly enjoyable moments. Despite the content they're a genuine joy to watch, and Planet Terror is no exception. With tongue firmly in cheek, all the men are heroes, all the women are stunning, all the violence is indulgent and exaggerated, and heads explode all over the place.I don't care how crass or silly or low-brow it is - Planet Terror is a film clearly made by someone who truly loves and really enjoys making films that are genuinely entertaining. I wish Rodriguez had convinced Salma Hayek to appear in it, but it's still worth every one of the 5 stars.

This is the R1 extended & unrated DVD of Planet Terror.It's a two disc package & the picture qualityis...well it's Grindhouse. So all those 'burns','flickers', jumps & pauses are all part of theaesthetic. It's 2.35:1 widescreen and the picturefills all the screen on a modern TV. What a film!,it's a gorehounds paradise, it's my paradise.Effortlessly funny and fantastic with splashy KNB FXaplenty, pure entertainment. Extras: commentary,audience reaction track, trailer & poster gallery,10 min film school with Rodriguez & more.You could do a lot worse than watch this.2007. Run time: 1hr 45min 27secs.972-FTY

This is one of the funniest films I've ever seen. I wondered for a while if I was misinterpreting it but once I saw the hero wheelie down the road on a mini-moto and caught Bruce Willis desperately trying not to corpse I realised I was, thankfully, in on the joke. It's a shame the Grindhouse thing bombed, it was actually a great idea. Lots of movie cliches are beautifully overplayed knowingly and Rose McGowan's machine-gun leg is priceless. What more do you want for £4.98? Hilarious.

I love this movie. My dutch bluray version died so i had to rebuy this movie. This german version has a lot of cut out content. A lot of gore scenes a missing :( so that was kinda disappointing.

Una película que es de lo más exagerada, estúpida pero eso es lo que la hace fascinante.La edición blu ray importada incluye una inmensa cantidad de extras que no tiene la edición nacional. Para empezar son dos discos, se incluye la película en su formato original (como si estuviera dañada) y su versión limpia, por lo que tienes dos versiones de la misma película para que la veas de la manera que más te agrade.A esto se le suma una excelente cantidad de extras que te dejaran fascinado si eres fan de los zombies o del cine gore. No es una película para todos, es extremadamente violenta, tonta, sin sentido pero eso la hace un clásico instantáneo del cine de horror cómico.

Rispetto al primo film LENTO E DECISAMENTE UN PO' TROPPO HORROR-TRASH..questo secondo capitolo è nettamente piu' bello...!!Supersexy l'attrice principale ROSE MCGOWAN...e bravi anche gli attori tra cui spicca il figlio di ROBERT RODRIGUEZ.e il mitico BRUCE WILLIS...!!straordinario anche il cameo di QUENTIN TARANTINO...nei panni del MANIACO..CONTAGIATO...!!
