Great Product & Customer Service
This has saved my flowers at our 2nd home since I am not there to water them and the heat is ridiculous in South Alabama.

Good for vacation plant watering
I bought these to water outdoor potted plants when we went on vacation. It functions reasonably well and is certainly economical. The weights that hold the tubes into the bucket of water could be a bit heavier. They come off easily and sometimes float to the top so I worry about how well it's actually working. But my plants were all alive after we were away for a week in the summer, so it seems to work! I watered 5 pots with it and it is easy to use.

No instructions
No instructions I'm sure they are easy once you figure it out.

Worked beautifully
I used all 6 in my large plant while on vacation. Before using, I watered my plant thoroughly and soaked the spikes. I used 1.5 plastic water bottles. Even in the Texas heat, my plant survived a week. It looks great.

Good Spikes, Bad Packaging
These watering spikes seem to be well-made, and are a lower price than what I have paid elsewhere for the same type of product. I would be happy with them except for one major concern: The styrofoam used to pack these spikes is very dusty and crumbles easily. You can't remove the spikes from the packaging without the foam breaking into hundreds of little pieces. It's hard to get all of the shreds and dust out of the spikes, since the pointed section is so narrow. I had to use packaging tape to collect the worst, and then rinsed as well as I could. I will give it another shot and see if I can get the rest of the crumbles out before I even think about putting it in my garden. While this may not bother some people, it does bother me because I grow mostly edibles and I try to avoid damaging and wasteful packaging like this styrofoam. Honeycomb packing paper (looks like mesh made from paper) does a wonderful job, and is not nearly so damaging as styrofoam.

Self watering while you’re away
These are the bomb . The terra-cotta allows the water to distribute as needed! Perfect for traveling and the plants love them. I use them inside and outdoors!

Lacks instructions in the box, not intuitive how they work
The three watering spikes came in a non-descriptive box with no instructions or pictures of a working system. I see from other comments that others had similar problems and that there is a similar product that has instructions online. If you plan on using these before a vacation, I would suggest testing it out a few days early to make sure they work and will deliver enough water while away. There are more simple self watering systems (such as the ceramic spike that can hold an inverted bottle of water that slowly percolates through the porous ceramic spike,

They work as they should
I have lots of indoor plants. And I forget to water.... not a good combination. Thats why I use watering spikes together with empty 1 liter plastic bottles for smaller pots and 0.75 liter glass bottles for larger plants, glass weighs quite a bit and is often too heavy for smaller pots/plants and could topple over. These spikes came just in time and are helping me through the summer season.I have had many spike types before, some last a long time, some arrive already broken in the packaging. These 6 spikes were embedded deeply into styrofoam, nothing was broken or chipped! I had to crack the styrofoam beds into pieces to get the spikes out. Messy but not a big deal. This listing does not talk about that you should soak the spikes in water for 2 hours before using them. Supposedly they last longer when they get cured before their first use. So i cure/presoaked them. i only have them for 10 days and they are still fine and they drizzle out water to my plants. There are many competitors on the market and the prices vary from type to type. My recommendation is to calculate the cots of each individual spike. This spike type currently costs $2.83 each which is in line with the offerings for 6 piece quantities.
