I chose to pay a premium for this mattress because it's latex, not memory foam and not the seat cushion kind of foam. When it arrived, it was heavy, like a dead body, which I expected. It was wrapped well and encased in a nice looking cover— and that made me skeptical. I may have just paid a pretty penny for upholstery foam. Well I got a seam ripper out and took out the seam in the corner and to my surprise and relief, it's latex and looks just like the photos on this product page. I haven't slept on it yet, I have no idea if one side is firmer than the other. 3 stars for now.* Update: We love it. It made our back problems go away. The underlying mattress is a Room & Board spring mattress, which was very firm, without any give. Our previous mattress was too soft and one person's body would indent it, and when they moved, the other person would fall in to the indentation. The reaction to that, was to buy a firm mattress- that Room & Board mattress made us wake up in pain. The latex topper on that firm mattress is just what we needed, something that cushioned, but still provided firm support. If it was up to me, I would buy thinner versions of this latex topper- and stack them to my comfort level-instead of buying one fully encase mattress. Still happy with the sleep quality months later.It's not too hot, and we didn't really notice a smell other than during the first few hours- but it went away.

We recently bought a mattress from Avacado Green. It is a superb product but my wife found it a little firm; I thought it was great as firm. We decided on a latex topper as a solution but how firm? Enter the dual firm topper from Organic Textiles. Sustainability and organic were important as was a quality latex. We received the topper but we found no indication as to which side was what: firm or plusher. We put the topper on the mattress and started sleeping on it. Not sure if we chose the soft or firm side. Here is what we do know.My wife has had hip pain seemingly forever. It has almost disappeared with this topper. I have had a pain in my lower leg and occasionally in my hip. My problems have diminished also. Obviously, we needed new and better quality bedding! It is comfortable, sleeps cool and had no noticeable gassing at all.April 2021 update: After many months my wife thought she’d like a softer cushion. We flipped it over and the topper provided a softer feel. Still very pleased.

1. The product I was sent was used. Rhere were stains on the cover. (The cover is NOT as pictured in the information)2. The product had been compressed for shipping, didn't fit in the standard'/original box, so the shipper had two boxes taped around it for shipping. Why does the matter? Box had to be cut off the cover. Once removed from the plastic it was compressed in, THERE IS NO WAY OF PUTTING IT BACK IN THE BOX.3. The cover is described as dual sided with a "soft and firm" side. Definitely not true. A more accurate description would be "firm and firm." This is definitely NOT worth the extra money.4. Not one, but two emails were ignored. The first was to the customer service address on the paperwork in the box. The second was through Amazon. Crickets.5. The return policy requires YOU to pay for shipping. For a box big enough to fit this item in, it means YOU lose $75-$100 to ship back a USED ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED.Amazon should be ashamed of themselves for allowing a company this irresponsible and dishonest to sell on their platform.

I purchased this product to firm up my mattress in hopes of getting rid of some back and hip pain I was experiencing. I found the product to be just right for me. I used the firm side of the topper on my plush mattress and my pain went away. My setup still feels plush but the support from the topper is what I needed. I purchased the 2".

After being left with a super firm mattress from a past relationship, I couldn’t afford to go buy a new one. This is a total game changer and I wake up with no sore back or hip anymore! Love it! Still a huge purchase for me at $400, but worth it for the better sleep I’ve been getting. No fumes, no chemicals, just pure latex. Super heavy, though. If you can, get someone to help you get it on the bed. I somehow managed to get my king-sized one on the bed myself, but it was not easy.

I wanted it to be more softer but on firm side. I feel comforted knowing that it’s natural material and safe. I do like how it doesn’t give off the toxic fumes.

Great topper. So much better than memory foam. Excellent support without sinking in like memory foam.

I bought several of these and made my own mattress by layering them. I preferred the cotton encased toppers vs. a regular organic latex mattress where the topper layers are NOT individually covered inside one giant cover. MUCH lighter to move this way and so much less likely to get the actual latex matter topper dirty when moving if it was not encased in the luxurious organic cotton cover. LOVING that my bed is now non-toxic and it is very comfortable. HIGHLY recommend buying from this company!
