I recently upgraded my PS5's NVMe expansion from 1TB to 2TB. So I was left with a WD SN850X 1TB drive going spare and figured I could use it as an external drive for my PC.My WD drive had a chunky heatsink already on it, as that's how you buy them for PS5.I didn't want to mess about removing that chunky heatsink, in case I ever wanted to put it back in a PS5 or give it to a family member to use in theirs.So the good thing about this enclosure was that I could plug the drive in, and simply not slide the cover back on (it physically cannot due to the heatsink protruding).That's absolutely fine for me as I'm not bashing it around or anything. I plugged it into my PC, initialised/formatted the drive in the Disks and Volumes tool, and voila! Worked perfectly!Obviously if you do want the drive fully enclosed, you can't use an NVMe with a heatsink already attached, and will have to remove it and use the supplied shallow heatsink instead.

Easy to use and means that I have a speedy external drive to use when moving lots of data. The added bonus of a USB-C to A adapter built into the cable is a testament to this thing being well designed, rather than just mass produced at the lowest possible cost. And yet it was great value.

Such a good enclosure. I can carry around and swap NVM storages without the need for screwing.

my wifes laptop died with 5 years of unbacked up work. Engineer said itvwas beyond economic repair. which was either code for we haven't a clue whats wrong or they were more interested in selling a new laptop.after 20 mins on line this chassis was recommended to other people in similar situations.so i bought this chassis took the PCIe hard drive out inserted into this device and after changing some permissions we got full access . and trust me we now back up the new laptop . to this device WIN WIN

Excellent product and works really well. I like how it includes heatsink too. However you may find difficulty plugging in the included cable if your computer only has usb c ports.

Easy to use, doesn't get too hot, only problems are (1) - The lead provided is WAY too short and (2) - if this is plugged in and powered (blue light), then my PC will not go into 'sleep' mode until I unplug it (hence the need for a much longer USB lead).
