I bought a new compound bow and used these as a safety precaution so I could assemble and test the bow in my back garden without causing risk to neighbours. They really worked well, they didn't affect the aim too much and when I had confidence in the bow and my assembly of the sight and arrow rest position I was able to safely swap to tipped arrows. Not sure about shooting friends with them but I doubt they would hurt if they were in the right gear.
