Best set of speakers I've ever bought!
I purchased these (and the RF-64III center) after hours and hours of research on different speaker brands. I debated about the highly acclaimed Klipsch 8000f instead of these but there isn’t much difference in physical size (weight is a different story!!). I could not listen to them beforehand so I had to rely on other reviewer and dealer opinions. I could not find a bad review about the RF7III other than price so I pulled the trigger and went big. They are monster sized and weigh 100 lbs each, so be prepared for a workout! The sound is so impressive that I find myself listening to music for hours at time which has not been my practice previous. The detail in the music is alarming compared to what I was getting before. I’m hearing so many things in music that I never heard before! It’s like rediscovering your music all over again. Bass is crisp, punchy and I don’t know if I really need my subwoofer anymore? My wife (who could care less about speakers) said smiling, “these are so clear I can hear people walking in the background on my show, it’s like being in the movies!” She has never commented on any of my speaker purchases before other than if they were pretty. Never having had Klipsch speakers before I figured it was time and now I have probably bought my last set of speakers. Another benefit is how efficient they are even at low volume. My receiver (Onkyo RZ820) can be turned down about 10db (on my readout) to be at the same volume as my old speakers (Goldenear Triton 3). I guess I should list the speakers I have previously had so there is a frame of reference to my opinion: Polk LSiM 703, Def Tech Mythos ST, Goldenear Triton 3. All of these speakers were good but not at the RF7III level, at least to my listening preference. I’m not an audiophile but I do know what I like and this is it!! I wish I would have tried Klipsch years ago. If you can swing the price for these you will not be disappointed!!The only knock I would have is the super cheap rubber stick-on feet for the bottom on the speaker. I believe a speaker of this caliber should have a screw-in rubber feet.

Supremely satisfying sound. It is definitely the "cinema" sound that I have been seeking.
I have had these for only a few days, but already I want to watch a movie every night. Previously I had a pair of RP-280F's with an RC-62 II, but replaced them with a black ash pair of RF-7 III and an RC-64 III center speaker. The 280Fs had about a year of moderate use on them and the RF-7 IIIs were fresh out of the box, but the difference is night and day. There is just so much more sound. Clean powerful sound. It is invigorating. Obviously I really like the 280Fs otherwise I would not have "upgraded" to other Klipsch products. But, in my room shape and size, they just seemed to lack something. There is nothing lacking now!Fresh out of the box they were a bit harsh, but with even just a few days that has mostly worn off. This is early days, so I will update this review in about three months with my impressions then. These are driven by a Yamaha 150W per channel HT Receiver. This was the same for the 280FsFinish wise they are like pieces of furniture, just beautiful. The finish on the 280Fs is clearly vinyl. If Klipsch had gone with the same build as the RF-7 IIs, I would likely have chosen the Cherry finish. However, I went with Black Ash because Klipsch changed the front of the RF-7 IIIs to be black and I did not like the contrast.Warning: These are REALLY big. Make sure you have a strong marriage before dropping these in the living room.
