Unbelievable
My gosh. Every single track on this album made me want to see the movie that it came out in. There are not enough words to describe the songs and the feelings that they bring to who listens to them.

Beautifully performed
A delight for Hisaishi fans. Medleys from many films using full orchestra, chorus, and soloist. Some songs in English, others in Japanese. Beautifully arranged and performed.

Awesome soundtracks, worth the wait
For me, it took a while, like a whole month to get here. Little logistical issue so no problem. In the mail, safe and sound with sturdy packaging so that's great...The two discs are high quality, sounds really good and the scores are really what you expect from Joe Hisaishi so I would say it's very much worth it if you like Ghibli soundtracks.

Exactly What I Hoped For
I ordered this because I love Studio Ghibli films and I have an older vehicle that has a CD player built in. It's everything I hoped itvwould be; beautiful orchestrations, wonderful sound quality, and lovely packaging.

If you want to buy the original version, this isn’t what you want
This is deluxe edition. Music is fancier than the original version. And one song is in English, not Japanese. Overall, still great CDs.Shipped in plastic bag which caused unnecessary damage. Got replaced. Strongly suggest Amazon use fitted hardboard box to ship CDs.

Sublime, eternal performances from Joe Hisaishi with his Ghibli masterpieces
As a Joe Hisaishi and Ghibli fan, this debut album by DG brilliantly presents how these masterpieces could still be such transcendent experiences after decades of transcription, rearrangements, and orchestration. It was quite a surprise listening to Mandolin superstar Avi Avital playing Joe's work for The Wind Rises (2013), which often gets overshadowed by other famous pieces. My ears did need some replays to fully appreciate the new arrangements with the choir since we naturally get used to the approach with Hisaishi's piano. Thanks to excellent support from DG, Royal Phil, and Grace Davidson's magical vocal, now we have another must-have official recording of Maestro Joe Hisaishi with a big-name European orchestra (like the Melodyphony album with LSO in 2010).Lastly, this deluxe CD album has the exact same tracks (120 min in Disc One; albeit with the combined title) as the streaming options (Apple Music, Youtube Music, etc.) but I prefer to enjoy lossless melody with my old CD player. While some Ghibli masterpieces were missing (like "The Wind Forest" from 'My Neighbor Totoro') and, yes, you might be really familiar with these repetitive pieces from other albums (but I've never got tired of listening to them), this new album still offers a fresh interpretation that deserves a 5-star recommendation!
