Our cats love this scratcher!
Let it be said first that we have picky and large cats (one is 12 lb and the other is 15lb +). We have had the Ultimate Cat Scratcher (by SmartyCat) which is extremely sturdy and excellent, but only one of our cats likes it. The other cat will stretch up against tall vertical sissal/rope things but will only actually scratch low things and horizontal things and preferably those with the texture of carpet. We have therefore several kinds of scratchers around the house, including the infinity-sofa thing made of cardboard (also very excellent). We bought this L-shaped one because we needed something relatively unchunky to lean against a (to-be-delivered) new chair so that the cats might perhaps scratch that instead of the chair. This scratcher has been leaning against the wall where the new chair will eventually be, and BOTH cats love it and use it almost exclusively. Perhaps it's because it isn't very tall, or perhaps it's made of cardboard, or perhaps it has a horizontal base thing that's also cardboard, who knows. It isn't anywhere as stable as the Ultimate Cat Scratcher, because it's cardboard; regardless, the shape works perfectly with the Physics of scratching angle, downward force, etc. Sometimes they will sit or lie on the horizontal base like it's a chair. The base is not reversible but the vertical section is, which is fabulous, because we expect to be flipping it over soon, at the rate at which the cats have been using the front side. One point: when in use, the top of the vertical section does thump lightly (no noticeable sound, just the action) against the surface behind it (in our case, a wall), so we intend to affix some kind of felt strip to that top edge to save the wall paint. Overall, we are pleased and surprised by how much our cats like this - it somehow combines all their favorite elements of the other scratching things in the house. Thumbs up.

This will become your cats favorite scratching spot
We use one of these along the arm of the couch to give our cat a good place to scratch that isn't the couch. We also have plastic protectors on the couch, but the two together has protected out couch for 6 months so far! My cat loves using this scratching post, he uses it before any of the others in the house! Its great for them to be able to stand and scratch as well. I recommend this product for anyone with a cat!

Great but the pieces aren't measured out correctly
Great product. Very easy to assemble. However, one of the parts are too long and didn't fit correctly, even when lining it up perfectly, it would either overlap one piece or stick out on the top. The little toy string thingie is not supposed to be where i tied it. Couldn't figure out how to assembled that where it was supposed to be with the way the pieces were off in terms of length and size. Over that that, i rate four stars because it gets the job done :) just keep in mind you may have the issues I had. Also, I think because of the measurements being off, when Mr. Mittens scratches on it, it isn't even on my wooden floor and it wobbles a little bit.

Simple, Affordable, and My Cats Love It
I picked up this cardboard cat scratcher a while ago, and it’s honestly been a great buy. It’s pretty basic, but both of my cats use it regularly and seem to really enjoy it. The quality has held up surprisingly well over time, especially for how affordable it is. No issues so far, and it's definitely proven to be a good value. I don’t really have any complaints—it just works. If you're looking for something simple that does the job and keeps your cats happy, this is a solid choice.

Broken during assembly
The scratcher is amazing at what it’s designed is for but during assembly one of the pieces broke. It’s still usable tho.

Great Value, Easy To Assemble, Looks Fancy, Not Cheaply Made
I love this cat scratcher! It came exactly as shown in the picture/description. The cardboard scratching areas are not made out of the cheap cardboard that sheds everywhere. My cats have been using this since purchase and I have not had to vacuum up little pieces of the cardboard like I used to do with other scratchers so that is a win! There were no missing parts, it was easy to assemble (I did it without instructions. The plastic screws in the sides that hold the wood to the cardboard screw directly into the cardboard, but it's super sturdy. It is very light weight and moveable. I would say it is a great value for the money and I will be ordering more :)

assembly required but cat loves it
Some assembly required. They came packaged nicely and included simple picture based instructions. Was not expecting to screw anything into cardboard but that is what you do and it works! There is a small flat head screwdriver that is included. You just have to line it up and it assembles pretty easily just need to assemble it with many screws. But once assembled it is pretty secure. and the included toy is trapped between the cardboard, but my cat doesn't really notice it. He lays on it and scratches it. I've assembled 2 and he's scratched each one within 5 minutes of me being done so I think he likes them.

Acceptable but not reversible
Not terrible, but does wear out way too fast. The top layer would be reversible if it wasn't curved at the bottom which is simply a design flaw from an engineering standpoint. My cat doesn't care for the toy either.
