Worked well
Used this cutter to cut 10" dia SDR41 pvc pipe. Cutter cut through easily in a 3/8 chuck cordless drill, high speed setting once started at the six o'clock position, vertically nine inches deep from the opening. Cut was submerged as well. Pipe wall thickness was .262" The blade width from the shaft to teeth tip is about 3/8" so cutting through 10" schedule 40 would be more of a challenge. Hold the drill firmly when starting the cut to control chattering.

Read me before your first use - I wish I had known this!!
My intention was to use this to trim back our drain field clean outs.It did work, but here is what I found.Others have recommended shoving a towel down the pipe, just in case.I would HIGHLY recommend this.Because of the way I was having to hold my drill, I inadvertently loosened the chuck & in turn the bit fell out.I fished mine out with a string & magnet. If you are cutting pipe, that is in the ground like I was, I found the best method was to start at about 6 o'clock. One hand on the trigger the other close to the chuck, (just not on the chuck). This helped keep it stable & from bouncing around. Once you get the initial hole started it's like cutting butter. Just hold the bit tight to inside of the pipe and cut away! The unfortunate problem I had was that I didn't first try cutting at 6 o'clockish & I slightly bent my bit. When I went to start the cut it got very sloppy & started bouncing around. .... bent slightly. It still works, but it's much harder trying to get the cut going now because the blade doesn't stay perfectly aligned. It works great. Just don't over force it or apply too much pressure. Once you are cutting stick with it & it's seriously like butter!I wish I had known this going into it!

Tempted to rate it 3 stars
Take 1 inch off a standard 4" ABS toilet drain pipe and not finding any tools that will do the trick. It's a one-off so took a chance on this little saw. 20 minutes later after much cursing and sore knees the job is completed. Everytime this saw seizes, the screw holding it spins out!!! So the process went like this - put saw in, make a cut, take saw out, re-tighten the screws, repeat!Tried clockwise and counterclockwise didn't make any difference. The little saw did the work, but the expectation that it'll take a couple of minutes stretched out to 20+. What a pain. Started reading the reviews of similar little saws out there and every single one of them has the same complaint therefore 4-stars because all else equal, this thing did do the job. This is not a contractor/professional tool. It truly is for your one-off projects.

You will cut yourself
This is a very dangerous tool. But I was able to cut some chunks of ABS from my toilet flange. Note, it WILL spin across the floor. There are NO shields. But I knew that when ordering. It did take a few bites out of the floor but I kinda expected that so they were too bad. Maybe a 4x4 in the direction of spin would have been a good safety measure.

Works Amazing for Shortening 6in PVC Pipe Extensions for Catch Basins
Works Amazing for Shortening 6in PVC Pipe Extensions for Catch Basins. I was looking for something to cut down the pipe and this worked great, takes a little getting used to, but by the 3rd on it was smooth as butter. I would suggest scoring the interior so you keep the cut somewhat level. I rarely write reviews, but this one deserves me taking the time. Hope this helps other in the future!
