Don't order!!! I paid £47 for these all the writing on the side has nearly faded off the foot in print on the soul it's so black it's unwashable. To me their fakes. Also I ordered a size 5 which I am and their too big more like a 5 to a 6

Very comfortable. I wear orthotics and these sandals mean I can have feet in fresh air without worrying i am doing myself harm. Recommended by my physio. A wee bit Vaseline round toe post helps break them in. The buckled strap gives extra security and stops foot slipping forward as in normal flip flops

Stunning organic look
Pros:-stunning look, one of a kind, will make you stand out;-amazingly comfortable when standing (!) long hours;-very high quality materials and very well made;-true to size, perfect fit;Cons:-very frustrating that they are not comfortable from the first day; in my case, the first three days were the worst, then it was getting better and better every day; rather then breaking them in, it is more about your feet getting used to this kind of sandal; if you are madly in love with the design (like I am) then you will get through, if not, you will end up selling them on ebay;-unwashable; you need to accept the fact they look scruffy;-walking long distances? Rather not..-pricey; I paid £59 and that is max I would pay for them (online Birkenstock shop sell them for £80).Overall, it all depends what you want - comfort or stunning look? These sandals are definitely more about the latter. They do stand out and add this sparkle to your outfit. You won’t find a better design when you love organic/nature related style.

I had to get one size smaller. Overall great sandals.
Birkenstocks are always one size too big for me, this is the second model I've tried where I needed to purchase one size smaller than usual (I got a 5 but I usually wear a 6).The shoe itself is great. Fantastic arch and toe support, resistant material, and I love the colour. I have used them intensively this summer and they have been through dust, water, sea mist... After cleaning they always get back to looking new.It does take a couple of days to break them in, but once you do the fit is snug and comfortable.

Great sandals
Great sandals really comfy and better for your joints and feet than flip-flops. Arrived within a couple of days. I normally take a UK 6 but ordered the 5.5 as suggested, labelled as a 39 and are a really good fit. Not many Birkenstocks are made from leather so you have to look at the description carefully if this is your preference.

Takes a bit of time, but you will love them!
These are brilliant shoes, I live in them still (a year later). However, it took that long for them to be worn in and become comfortable. At first, i found them really uncomfortable, and after a days wear would have blisters beginning to form on the soles of my feet. I did some research and found this is common, and so decided to persevere, and i'm so glad i did. It took several months of wearing them a couple days, giving my feet a break, starting again, but by the beginning of this summer they were the most comfortable shoes i have ever owned. It is so true that they mold to your feet. Where they first felt hard, they now feel soft and comfortable. Give them time, and you'll love them.

Brilliant once broken in but make sure you tighten them enough.
As someone who lives in flip flops in the summer but has been told not to wear them because they aggravate my lower back pain, I have been delighted to discover Birkenstocks. They took a few days to wear in but are now so comfortable that I can't see me wearing anything else all summer! They feel very supportive and the high strap means that they stay on well - I have walked miles in them. The most important thing for me was realising that they aren't a flip flop and should be securely fitted to your foot - once I tightened the strap so they weren't flopping up and down it made an immediate difference to the comfort of the shoe. I am usually a 6.5 and the 39 is a good fit. Don't be tempted to go too small as you need room for your feet away from the edges. I'm a Birks convert!

Quality not as expected
My podiatrist recommended Birkenstock as I have been having problems with my feet. When product arrived all seemed OK, fit was good and they looked quite nice. I left for a short holiday the next day so decided to take them with me to wear. They were quite comfortable, even allowing for 'breaking them in'. However, the strap on the left sandal was longer than the strap on the right sandal, and to get the right sandal to fit properly it has pulled the centre strap to one side, making it look a bit lopsided. A little disappointed with the quality as expected the brand to be top quality.
