So easy I'm vacuuming 2x as much
- cordless is amazing. Wrapping the cord was a major disincentive before - dust bin is small (fills after half a dirty room), but so easy and fast to empty i dont mind. I did have to manually extract some hair, but it was pretty easy to get out. I haven't seen any hair wrapped around the brush, which feels magical. I'm only about 3 weeks into using it, but we have dogs and lots of hair. - i avoided doing stairs before since that was like a crossfit workout with my old dyson ball, but this with the small brush is just like a little hand held and almost makes stairs fun. - i don't have to move nearly as much furniture since it fits under so much more (see pic), including a baby crib with 6in of clearance--you can lay it flat and reach back 3ft! - holding down the button the whole time is a little annoying, but not too bad for a room or 2, and who wants to vacuum more than that at a time anyway. - battery life seems fine for a room or 2, but I'm pretty early in its life. - despite being light overall, something about it feels a little harder to push than my old dyson ball. But again, Im using this more in smaller time chunks since it's so fast to get out and out away, so the arm strain, extra bin emptying, and holding down the button aren't a big deal. - it is definitely picking up lots of dust and hair from our carpet, even on normal power, so i think suction is fine.

It’s a Complicated Review
First and foremost, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this vacuum! However, the charger that came with the vacuum didn’t work. I thought I had charged the battery like the directions said. The battery itself actually lasted me almost a month, and I used the heck out of this vacuum. Suddenly, it was dead. I plugged it into the charger and tried to charge. No light registered that it was charging. I trouble-shooted this to no end. I registered this vacuum with Dyson. Dyson is the company that I am not actually happy with. When I discovered two days before my return time was up that the battery wasn’t charging, I contacted Dyson because they said the vacuum had a 2-year warranty. I received an email back saying that my vacuum was not under warranty. I was livid! So I chatted with an Amazon representative. I just wanted them to replace my vacuum, not return it. The associate kept trying to get me to return it. I said I would not because then I would have to pay a higher price to get another one (got this baby on Prime Day - do you blame me for holding my ground?). Finally, I sucked it up and bought a new charger and a new battery from Amazon to see which one was the issue. It was definitely the charger like I thought. I emailed Dyson a pretty strongly-worded email about my disappointment. I received a kind email addressing my frustration at my initial email. I emailed back that I had gotten a charger and that was the issue. Guess what?!! Crickets. No response from Dyson. Seriously, Dyson, you can do better. Charging so much for a product and then not backing up your warranty. Just gross. The tough part is that this vacuum is SOOOO amazing and wonderful to use. I can vacuum the dog hair off my stairs so easily now. That’s why this review is so complicated. Fantastic product. Lousy service from Dyson.

Great on hardwood floors and carpet! But stopped working after 6 months.
I love that this is lightweight. My other vacuum blew crumbs around on our hard floors, but this one does a great job! It also transitions to carpet seamlessly. I typically don’t love to haul out our heavy vacuum, but this is so light and convenient, I vacuum more often because I don’t hate it! UPDATE: The vacuum stopped working 6 months after our purchase. After some online searching, we discovered it is a common problem with a part inside the main body that breaks, requiring an entire new main body. After contacting Dyson, they said we would get a new main body sent to us because we are still under warranty. A couple hours later, we were contacted again via email and told we were not covered by any warranty and would instead have to purchase our own main body or, alternatively, they suggested we purchase an upgraded vacuum. Very disappointed that a vacuum at this price would only last 6 months and that the company doesn’t honor their stated warranty. UPDATE #2: I was able to get a hold of customer service again, and after an entire hour on the phone, finally received confirmation our vacuum was under warranty. I received a mailing label and was instructed to mail in my main body, which would allow them to send me a new one. Almost two weeks later I had not heard anything and contacted Dyson again, only to discover that, while they had received what I had sent, there was nothing happening on my ticket. After another round of explaining and trying to prove my purchase date to show my vacuum was under warranty, they did send out a new main body which I received a week later. Will update regarding how long this one lasts.

Obsessed with vacuuming
I never thought that I would enjoy vacuuming but now I do. Before pulling the trigger and buying the Dyson, we had a clunky corded vacuum that regularly smashed me in the shins as I carried it upstairs. It was heavy, the cord got stuck on chair legs and I downright hated it. As a result, I vacuumed once a week (if that) and did so begrudgingly. I considered buying a cordless Dyson for years but couldn’t stomach the price tag. But I finally made the leap on Prime Day and I couldn’t be happier. The day the Dyson arrived, I charged it up and vacuumed the house. We have a husky mix and her hair gets everywhere (it’s as though she sheds her entire coat on a daily basis). The first day, I emptied the canister six times and I could have kept going. It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver, which means I’m vacuuming nearly daily now. And it cleans in a way that my old vacuum never did. The maneuverability makes it a joy to vacuum (yes, I said it.) One of the best parts is that it seamlessly transitions from our hardwood floors to low-pile carpets to high-pile rugs and back again. It charges quickly and holds it charge for several rounds/days of vacuuming. If I put it on “Boost”, it drains more quickly but holy moly does it increase the suction. So it’s a trade-off that I’m okay with.
