Great value TV with good functionality, and picture quality
I have waited a few months before doing my review on this 50 inch Hisense TV to make sure I capture all the relevant points. Firstly the set-up procedure is very easy and took no time to getting working and tune-in all relevant TV / Radio channels. It really is simple to do. The TV picture quality is in my opinion excellent, I really noticed a difference from my old 7 year old TV and that surprised me. I have added a few pictures to try and show the clarity, depth of image which are really first class. The resolution and pictures are really crisp, bright even in difficult room lighting situations. Now one thing I am a little on the fence with is the sound / speaker performance, I decided to get a Hisense soundbar which I am very pleased with. If you like deep, rich base sounds then TV speakers do not normally deliver. The TV speakers here are OK, there is clarity in the voice in particular but they do not meet my needs especially if you like listening to music, or films to immerse yourself in the experience. A soundbar is always going to add to the enjoyment. The TV controller is a reasonable size, some 21cm (l) x 5cm (w), weighing nearly 120g. It has buttons linking all main streaming services such as Primer, Disney, Netflix. It feels reasonably well made and up to now I have had no problems or issues to raise. Overall I am very pleased with this TV purchase it seems great value for what you get. The price of under £300 for a 50 inch TV with all these features and picture quality is why I am giving it a full 5 star rating!

Pretty solid TV
I'll start with my only real negatives with this TV. 1) Sometimes I have to unplug it completely to get it to reconnect to my WiFi. It's very very rare but still worth noting. 2) Prime Video is pretty useless. Titles often show as Blank and I get Error messages. (I've ended up buying a Fire Stick mainly for Prime and the unavailable WWE Network. Netflix, Disney Plus and the excellent Wu Tang Collection (which I discovered via Roku) all work perfectly well. It does easily set up to WiFi. Looks great playing Bluray. I am an Xbox gamer and the game mode is pretty good. I've enjoyed the detailed graphics. It feels sturdy with a nice thickness. 50 was about the right size for me and fits nicely in my setup. Especially with movies and games. It's great to have a nice big screen with good resolution. For the price you can't really go wrong although you may need a firestick or Roku for Prime.

Excellent television for the money, remote is a bit clunky though :/
Overall I'm very happy with this television, it has a brilliant picture, and having come from a well regarded LG set, it's on par with that. The OS is decent, I particularly like that there is an "Apps Only" option in Account Settings; it helps tidy up the home screen, leaving only minimal intrusive background imagery with no clutter. I was also very impressed with how light this TV is, it's literally half the weight of my LG and the build quality seems just fine, it doesn't look cheaply made or shoddily finished. Very smart looking. As far as apps go, I only really use Plex, YouTube and Prime so can't comment on live TV services etc. Minor irritations:- The remote is a little clunky (having come from an Amazon Fire TV Cube and its almost perfectly-designed remote) and the OS can be a little sluggish, especially when changing volume (there's a slight delayed reaction) but again that's only a minor complaint given that this isn't something that needs doing every five seconds - we generally set it at a level and leave it for a while. Also, with Plex, a number of movie files play choppily (I'm unsure why this is, but I'm making a list of the affected files to see what they have in common, and will report back here my findings... IF I can identify the source of the problem). All is well with Amazon Prime and YouTube though, which operate flawlessly. Overall I couldn't be happier with the set, I've found it to be exceptional value for the price paid. Highly recommended!

Do not buy !!
I 1st ordered this TV on 14/9/24. The TV was delivered on 18/9/24. After unpacking & turning on I realised the screen had a small crack at the top. I arranged for the item to be returned & ordered the same TV again. The new TV arrived on 21/9/24 this time I payed extra for an unpack service so I could return immediately if I seen a fault. I didn't see any faults so preceeded to set up TV. During set up the screen went blank with vertical yellow lines running down it, as shown in the picture. I tried every trouble shooting method I could find online & nothing would fix it I called Hisense warranty help & their lines were closed. I called Amazon customer & got put through to a call centre that was no help at all. I then set up the return of the TV ( The 2nd in 3 days) and was told the price of the return would be deducted out of my refund which I have to wait 14 days for. I'm nearly £700 out of pocket & still have no TV. I guarantee I'll never buy a product from Hisense & I'll never have another TV delivered from Amazon. If you want to save yourself alot of stress don't go anywhere near this product. Gave 1 star on the rating because I had to give a Star, but it should be minus 1 thousand stars.
