As a backpacker, saving space in your pack is everything. This food cozy makes a world of difference. I would always put my dehydrated food in zip locks to save space in my pack since the packaging took up so much room. But this is the first time I used a thermal cozy. It barely weighs anything and is super easy to use. It's well constructed and put together. Besides fully cooking the food, which it does a great job doing, it was way easier to eat as the cozy gave the zip lock bag support. It worked perfectly, saved me a lot of hassle and kept my food piping hot. I will always have this in my kit!

This cozy bag has made it a lot easier to rehydrate my hiking meals. Especially chicken, that seems to need more time and heat, rehydrated well. I use Ziplock freezer bags for my meals and those fit into this cozy really well. I pour boiling water to my Ziploc bag, mix, seal and put into the cozy, then close the lid. Food stays hot and rehydrates better. If you’re using prepackaged meals, the skinny bags will fit in this cozy better than the wide packages. When you’re eating, pull the lid back and fasten under the cozy to make a handle. Great product! Very light too!

Keeps food warm. Light weight and simple.

So, this is what it claims to be. I however, was under the impression that I could open a Mountain House dehydrated meal and put it in this. Such is not the case. The MH pouch does NOT fit in this. You have to preopen your meals and dump them in a freezer bag to use in conjunction with this. Certainly not a deal breaker, but adds an addition step and create more garbage by having to use an extra bag.Other than that, it seems built okay. A tad thin but it will help keep the heat (or cold) in.

This is way too small for anything. At least make it the size to fit a MRE main portion. If this was just a little bit bigger it would be worth the asking price, as is, it is worthless! Don't buy it! It is so much smaller than the pictures shown. Make it larger and I will purchase a bunch.

Just got back from my 4th camping trip with the family and the pouch was a huge success. Well made, compact and weighs pretty much nothing. My favorite feature is the top flap that folds over and clips to the bottom. Makes it easy to hold the cozy with one hand and it keeps your hands warm on those chilly nights.

I think it could work really well but its too small for the gallon size ziplocks. I tried it last night and there was so much bag bunched up and rolled down that i could hardly get to my food. Maybe it would work better with a quart size bag!!

Every ounce counts when you're backpacking on a long-distance trek, and this food cozy helps me shave valuable weight from my pack by repackaging my dehydrated meals in the freezer bags. It’s durable, light and has great heating/insulation when cooking the food. The food cooks better than the original packaging it comes in and stays hot much longer. This is exactly what I have been looking for.
