I've been having trouble with all the small printing on things lately, even with my glasses, unnecessarily small print on food packaging and the like, so I got this because it seemed like a good size.It's incredibly light even with the batteries in the handle. the LEDS are nice and bright and with the three settings it's easily adjustable to different ambient light levels. I will be honest and say that the Fresnel lens takes some getting used to and getting the correct distance between face, lens and text is occasionally slightly disorienting, but once you've hit the spot it's a perfect tool. all that pesky miniature information on labels is now within my comprehension, no more misreading 3's as 8's or 5's as 2's etc. This is a greet tool to have and given the size of the lens will probably encourage me to start reading more books as well. it's also nice and flat which is excellent for packing into a rucksack or laptop bag if you happen to be studying as a mature student or whatever.Very glad I bought this.

I bought this for reading in bed. It is light and easy to hold. Good powerful light and magnifier. But I found it difficult to hold a paperback open, and at the best angle, wjth one hand while the other hand held the magnifier. I wouldn't send it back though. Good value for the money.

Light weight, large screen, easily covers most pages, different shades of light. Hugely improves readability. Glad I purchased it.

Specification stated lens of glass material but is plastic with about x2 magnification. Not as photos or described, it does have a 1 inch insert by the handle with about x5 magnification but not useful for elderly reading books! Minor note is rubber handle is black plastic. My guess is the x5 insert has been added after poor reviews about its claiming x5 magnification. But it is not really useable as design is not fit for purpose of reading pages. The 1 inch x5 bit works but if that what you are looking for, best buy a smaller device without the large lens! I would score 0 stars if possible.

Arrived in good time. Had to return as it was larger than expected. Lightweight and appeared to be good quality.

Got this for my mum who had failing eyesight. It's big, it magnifies and illuminates. Would have been nice if it had a case but I found an old table case and used that. Does not detract away from the 5* review though.
