So far these have been fantastic on my 2003 Mean Streak. One bag sits on the exhaust, but the pipes have slip on covers so the bags are safe from the heat. Just to be safe I added an adhesive heat shield from Amazon to the bottom of the bag. I rode a week before I received the heat shield and the bag was fine so I doubt it was needed.The bags are huge, and I can literally fit the old bags inside these. I didn't think I'd ever need the exterior pockets, but I've already put them to use with spare hoses, tools, and other goodies.Nothing inside my bags has gotten wet, so I can verify the waterproof ability.The odd shaped lid is actually functional, making it easy to grip near the velcro and lift up.When I took the bags off (very easy to do, by the way) to place the extra heat shield I noticed that there was gouges in the plastic from rubbing against the brackets. That worries me and I may end up bolting them onto bike instead of hanging over the fender.It comes with two locks to keep someone from walking off with the bags and they work ok. I can even use them to lock my helmet to the bike. Bonus! The clasps each have a small plastic lock and they are absolutely worthless, all you have to do is unbuckle the strap. What's the point?I've added a reflector onto both bags to increase my visibility and they don't distract from the bags, in my opinion anyway.

Got these for my VStar 650. Look great. Plenty of space. Like some others, I made new holes and relaced the saddle to raise the bags up a few more inches. No issues. Took them on a 7 hour ride to the beach then 7 hours back with rain on the way back. Held up fine. Water resistant but not totally water proof.Really happy with the purchase. I fit so much in these bags and the zippers are great. Better looking, to my eye, than the other bags in a similar price range.

These bags are not waterproof and are made a bit cheaper then the Milwaukee version. I had to had velcro to keep them closed as the straps were not properly placed.

I like the bags… Although there is way too much leather in between them for my bike… I am going to Tailer them to fit and i believe I’ve figured out how to make it work... this is an 04 Harley V-Rod. I wanted huge bags... problem is to make them fit i have to place them behind the springs which puts them behind the back tire, so I’ve had to remove my OEM blinkers and will be using license plate “bolt” blinkers... I’m a custom kind of guy and have no problem working to make these work because they are everything i expected... i will have to drill holes... nice hard plastic on the back side ....project time.

COMES WITH CHEAP GARBAGE LOCKS THAT DON'T UNLOCK AND ARE PERMANENTLY STUCK ON THE BAGS UNLESS YOU CUT THEM OFF WITH BOLT CUTTERS. THE KEYS JUST BEND AND THE LOCKS DON'T OPEN.TEST THE LOCKS BEFORE YOU SELL THESE!

These bags are very large, which is what I wanted. Compliments my 1997 Valkyrie well, and provides volumes of storage for an unbeatable price.Mounting is a bit of trick depending on how you go about it. I had panniers for a set of worn-out bags (replaced by these) and was able to reuse them. Drilled some holes and permanently attached these. Looks almost OEM.Careful with the inner flap when you open the bags. These are not leather so you could melt the flap where it comes in contact with a hot pipe.I've been caught out in the rain a few times and these bags have stayed dry inside the main compartment. The external pockets pick up some moisture, though.

You get what you pay for. They looked really good on my 2012 streetbob but didn't hold together after 300 miles. The zipper came apart and the outside is area facing the bike is very flimsy.

I used on my 1800c and the holes to change the length are completely wrong. I thought I had adjusted it up high enough but the holes stretched out and the bag ended up on my pipes completely melting though the bag. Wasted money. If you buy make your own holes and make them higher then you initially need so when the holes stretch out, they wont end up on your pipes
