Might Not Pronounce It, But I Sure Can Praise It: The LEUCHTTURM1917 Drehgriffel Mechanical Pencil
The LEUCHTTURM1917 Drehgriffel Mechanical Pencil is as challenging to pronounce as it is easy to love. Despite my tongue-twisting attempts with its name, the 'Drehgriffel' (which I've fondly nicknamed "Dre") has quickly become my favorite writing tool. Here's why this pencil is much more than just a mouthful.First off, the quality of the Drehgriffel is unmistakably high. It boasts a sleek, minimalist design typical of LEUCHTTURM1917, finished in a vibrant 'Rising Sun' orange that's as bold as it is beautiful. The body is robust, hinting at the durability that has become synonymous with the brand. I've dropped it more times than I'd care to admit, and not only does it remain unscathed, but it also continues to function flawlessly. The grip is another high point. It's designed to be comfortable for long periods of writing without causing fatigue, which has been a game changer during my long drafting sessions. The balance between the lightweight feel and the sturdy build makes it a delight to use. The 0.7 mm HB graphite lead that comes with it offers a smooth writing experience—perfect for both sketching and note-taking, delivering clear, crisp lines without any breakage. When it comes to ease of writing and comfort, the Drehgriffel scores top marks. The refillable lead mechanism is straightforward and reliable, ensuring that I'm never distracted by maintenance woes during my creative or work-related endeavors. It's the kind of pencil that boosts your productivity simply by being such a pleasure to use.Value for money is another significant aspect. Yes, it may be priced a tad above your average mechanical pencil, but the superior writing experience, combined with its durability and the brand's prestigious heritage, makes it a worthwhile investment. This isn't just a tool; it's a partner in the writing process, reliable and ready for years of service. In conclusion, while the LEUCHTTURM1917 Drehgriffel Mechanical Pencil might twist your tongue trying to say it, it won't twist your hand while using it. From its stylish aesthetics to its impeccable performance, it stands out as a top-tier choice for anyone serious about their writing instruments. It’s a sunrise on my desk every time I pick it up—bright, dependable, and full of potential

A mechanical pencil masterpiece
This is beyond just a pencil - it’s a work of art that belongs in the MoMA. The weight feels sturdy yet balanced; it’s not heavy nor is it light. Size is just right for me, not small. Feels right in the hand and this will last a long time. I’m glad I purchased this, as it is so smooth to write with and is nice and streamlined. No eraser but I haven’t missed it, since I always keep a better eraser nearby at all times (being a sketch artist, it comes natural to do that). I’m now interested in checking out the pen version. I’m loving this brand.

Great Quality Pencil
I don’t do reviews very often, but after using this pencil for a few days now, I had to. It’s absolutely incredible! The weight of the pencil is perfect. Not too heavy, not too light. It feels great in the hand. Its mechanism is clean sounding and functions well. It’s also just incredibly good looking. By far the best mechanical pencil I’ve used to date. My one complaint is that it doesn’t have an eraser. But I got a pink eraser to carry around and I’m all good! Great pen. It’s worth the price for sure.

Great quality materials, mechanism, and ink.
It's about the size of a classic plastic Bic ballpoint pen without the cap. So, yeah, it's small, but the quality of the materials, the twist mechanism, and the ink are premium+ grade. It's easy to write and the shape will feel familiar to anyone who has used a Bic ballpoint pen. The Rising Sun color option will remind you of the classic No 2 wooden pencil color. It's a great color option. If you buying one of those stuck-on pen holders that come out of the side of a notepad, this is the ideal size for that. It feels made for that. I would buy it again, especially if it's on sale.

Short simple pencil; love it so far
I’ve only had this pencil a day so have not had the opportunity to experience paint flaking off the tip or the twist mechanism failing as others have reported. So far, I love the pencil, although it is quite short—significantly shorter than a Caran d’Ache 849, for example. Unlike the Caran d’ache, it also has no eraser or clip. It has a nice matte finish and softer edges on the barrel. It does not come with any instructions as to how to reload new lead, but videos are available on YouTube. You unscrew the tip to take the pencil apart, remove the inner cap to the barrel, and insert lead from top end of reservoir. Mine came with two extra leads inside, which are supposed to automatically replace a used up lead by way of gravity, rather than a spring action. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to test if this actually works.. So far, love the simplicity, look, and feel of this pencil; also, the lead, which looks dark and feels pretty soft.

On retrouve ici la qualité allemande. Je suis satisfait.

Simple. Very simple. Twist for more lead, hex barrel means it doesn't roll away. Barrel size not much bigger than a wooden pencil. Nic.e I think this one is a long time keeper / daily use.
