Bought a 10 meter charger as the one provided by the manufacturer did not reach the charging point.The providers charger had a much thinner wire between charger and three pin plug. This one had the same thickness of wire all along. Plug got quite hot with the supplied charger whilst this one did not heat up even when used at 13 amps. If there are problems the amperage could be decreased. I am a complete novice with EVs but the charge time was lower than the manufacturer indicated.I would say that this was excellent value for the price paid.As I said at the beginning this felt very sturdy compared with other chargers.

I got this as it was 10m and had a delay which allows me to use night rate to charge the car. Its solidly built the display is easy to read. I’m very pleased with this charger

This thing's built amazingly well, everything about it is extremely high quality. It seems to have every bit of protective circuitry you could think of and definitely gives a sense of safety as well as performance. The cable itself it really hefty and so seems like it should be able to handle 13 amps easily.At 10m long I think it's longer than most others, meaning you stand a better chance of being able to reach from socket to car.It's going to be ideal to keep in the boot of the car for topping up between "proper" charges and / or for emergencies. You can even set a timed start so it charges when electricity is cheaper overnight.Brilliant bit of kit!

But this Third Rock energy Type 2 EV charger is just ideal to carry around, just in case you need a top up or a charge overnight with friends.Some great features set this charger apart fom the rest. The highest quality, massively thick power lead that can withstand any weather and rough use carries the charging current from the charger to the EV socket on the vehicle. Everything is water proof, well built and made to a very high standard.Operation is straight forward. It's a well designed controller that has an easy to read digital display that shows the charging current, and any time set for the charge to switch off. I show in my video, a quick demo of the settings and how easy it is to see what's happening to the battery .The charger has lots of safety features, so important thee days as we keep hearing about charging issues with potential fires and overheating. This charger has safety monitoring and cutouts for RCD protection (earth fault) IP67 protection, overheat, overcurrent protection, short circuit, lightning and a self failure check, just to mention a few.In addition this charger has a generous 10mn lead. The others I've used have just 8m, so this one does give you the extra length and as stated earlier it's super strong well insulated charge lead. You'll see this from the video and photos.Yes, it is expensive, but when you think that is helps to alleviate charge point and range anxiety, it's worth always having on board my EV, especially when I'm visiting friends or family without a proper EV charge socket. This 13A plug charger covers all my basis for peace of mind and I'm really pleased to have it.
