Love this product
I’ve been using a PalmPress for a number of years now and really love it. It is so easy to use and clean. And there are no filters to replace so there is no waste. I love that it folds up a compact, easy to store disk which is perfect to take with us in our camper. Also, the company gives such great customer service. Any time I had a question or concern I was immediately contacted by email and given help.

A Coffee Fiend...
A Coffee Fiend...Maybe fiend is a strong word, but I have more ways, machines, and gadgets for/of brewing coffee than you can imagine. This sounded intriguing especially given that I'll be going on a trip, and like my coffee stronger than a drip machine makes. The product page describes the size as:Collapses into a tiny 2.25" in height, 4.25" in diameter, and 9oz.If you put a hockey puck on steroids it might look something like this (in its collapsed state). The components feel competent; a combination of silicone (the brew cone part) steel (the filter) and plastics for the outer body parts. The part that you see in the main product photo, the top part, is what will be turned upside down and will be in contact with the vessel you extract the coffee in to (a mug, or in my case a 16 ounce glass pyrex measuring cup). That part has a, don't know what to call it, but there is a texture that will help keep the device from slipping, which you can feel, on that upper/outer ring of plastic. Very thoughtful! For my first coffee journey with this, I compromised in the grind size, not as small as I wanted, but not as large as typical french press grind, and slightly smaller than the suggested "medium grind".I used 19.2 grams, pushing the amount of coffee I used to the max of the "max" coffee fill line inside the brew cone.I heated water and poured it up to the "max" fill line for water, capped the cone and let the coffee brew for 3 minutes.I turned the device upside down onto my Pyrex measuring cup and let the liquid just drop out; about 3 ounces came out just from gravity.I was doing other things and wanted to see how much more would come out just from gravity (not very much).Several minutes later I pressed the rest of the liquid out and arrived at a total of 7 ounces of coffee. If you've ever owned/used an Aeropress and then use this, you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. With an Aeropress, there's this massive effort to extract the coffee (but it's really good).This...easier than a true French press. The thing that isn't fun with this or a French press, is getting all the used coffee grounds out/cleaning it.To me, the mechanics of a real French press are easier to clean than this. It's not horrible or anything, I'm just sayin'.This seems ideal if you're traveling to a "non coffee" location or are very particular about how you like your coffee; depending on where that is, I think the only drawback is the amount it makes in one batch and cleaning it.But how's the coffee, Mister...cut to the chase!!!Okay, well I brewed it and then chilled it to have iced.Um...it was good tasting coffee, *but* my wish and intent of stronger than drip coffee maker coffee was not realized. My palate is used to my "go to" method of making coffee, and that is with an espresso grind prepared in a stove top Moka Pot.Since the directions say to use a "medium grind" with this, I suspect the designers want us to have the optimum experience with this device (that does not include using an espresso grind). For me, that means I don't get the strength of coffee that I'm wanting.Nice item though.I've given it 4 stars based on perceived quality, and workmanship.I hope this review has been helpful and enables you to make an informed purchase decision.I rarely give an overall 5 star rating.

My new everyday coffee maker!
Amazing coffee, I love this coffee press! I purchased my Palmpress on the recommendation of my local barista. They said it was the only maker they use when they travel. I've been using it for a week for my morning coffee at home and I'm in love! It tastes as good to me as my pourover, just easier, and glad I don't have to throw out filters anymore. It feels well made too.

LOVE THIS
I go on a fair amount of road trips, and I wanted to try something other than my aeropress. While I love my aeropress, I don't like that I have to always get filters for it. What drew me to this palmpress was the zero-waste aspect of it. We don't have to go rummaging around for our filters, now all we need to do it rummage for our coffee grounds. Love how it collapses down into itself so that it is super compact, it fits anywhere. It's easy to use. I had my sister make her first cup from it, without telling her any instructions, and she figured it out, because the inside of the press has indicator lines for coffee and water. She only needed to ask how much time we needed to let the grounds steep. We like ours at 5 minutes steeping, but that's really up to the user. Because it's not a paper filter, it does leave some grounds at the bottom of my cup every time (see photo), but it's not really a lot so it doesn't bother me. Best part, clean up is a breeze. Since the grounds are being pressed down, when I open the press there aren't coffee grounds everywhere. They're all together compacted down. I just need to tap it over a planter and it releases from the press.I did want to mention that my lines don't line up. I've just gotten used to tightening it as much as possible to avoid any leaks (which I haven't experience yet). Not enough to take off a star for though. The quality is great, we've been using it all summer and into the fall. I wind up using it at home too when I don't feel like filling up my coffee machine for just a cup. This is more convenient for me, and I honestly like the process of making my coffee with this press. I've recommended it to my brother and all my friends!

Pretty good single serve travel companion
This is a very clever device. I’ve used it at home and on a vacation trip recently. It’s certainly a nice alternative to hotel coffee, and doesn’t take up too much space in your bag.Much like a French press, pressing this isn’t about speed. It’s about consistency. Slow and steady pressure works the best. Also, make sure it is completely closed, or you’ll get some mess.As with any coffee maker, cleanup is part of the process. This is where I was less than thrilled. But that’s not a product malfunction, just the price of making good coffee. It’s difficult to rinse out if you’re worried about clogging a drain. If you can adapt, its all good.

Muy fácil de usar
Se puede preparar un café de buen sabor, es muy fácil de usar y de limpiar. Quizás un tamaño más grande estaría mejor
