I was looking for a god calibrated tamper and this fit the bill nicely. Came quickly, and was exactly as pictured and described. Using it has definitely made my espressos more consistent in flavour, as the calibrated tamper delivers just the right pressure. It's a bit overpriced for what it is, but if you afford one I'd definitely recommend

Seems a good tamper. Nice and heavy so feels good. Works fine in the 54mm Portafiler on the Bambino plus. So much better than he included stock one. Has a good action on it

The spring action on thos makes it the best one Ive owned.

The Sage Bambino baskets have a small taper in them, and this will hit the taper.However.If you put the correct amount of coffee in the basket, it should still work perfectly fine.If you're someone who eyeballs it, and doesn't measure specifically, you'll need to ensure you're well above the taper to use this with the Bambino baskets.

The one I received does not work. The central screw is way too short for the spring to work as it should. The scale is not visible (as the handle has to be screwed right down to the hilt to keep it all together). As you unscrew it he whole thing falls apart before the scale becomes visible and the spring starts to work. If the central screw was longer it might work as it is supposed to do - but at the moment it is just a static tamper. I will be returning it for a refund

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this for work, I work in a restaurant and we make a fair amount of coffees.I was very impressed with the quality, it's very well made, easy to use and fits in the standard inserts for the espresso machine.I'd definitely recommend for professional use or at home, it has a very stylish design so it's perfect to have on display

The tamper doesn't work, particularly the spring functionality, may have received a faulty one. Requesting a refund.

I have a delonghi dedica with a bottomless portafilter and a double shot basket. the 51mm fits perfectly in the basket to press the espresso bean. immediately I noticed that the distribution is more even, likely because the tool spreads the pressure throughout rather than concentrated on where you push. the tamp has a gauge on the side so you know how much pressure you are exerting also.the tamp is well made, pretty sure it is fully steel and came with a little tpu coaster for you to rest the tamp on. so far, loving the experience and has elevated my espresso game

Works well for our needs.

There is nothing that is calibrated or spring loaded in the tamper at all. The tamper is screwed directly to the handle and there is no way to determine if you are applying 30lb of force or not. The little ‘lid’ is spring loaded so it will stay pressed to the top of the tamper. But if the portafilter is filled properly, the ‘lid’ will never touch the portafilter.The rest of the unit is solid. Just don’t be fooled, there is no spring loading from the tamper to the handle.
