Great value.
Bought on sale. Item arrived quickly and is exactly what it says it is. I've already started using it to improve my color management and photography workflow. The Datacolor software is easy to use and I'm happy with the results so far. Plus the small size and ability to remove the cards let's me use this pretty much anywhere.

Useful for some
Build quality was good. People who complain about the stiffness seem to misunderstand the intention, it's to prop up easily at predictable angles. While I didn't find it useful I could see it being an affordable replacement card in the Classic form, but not as a passport style. Better off saving for an Xrite/Calibrite with their smoother chips and Capture One ICC profiles.

Despite being a little pricey this thing is a perfect color reference
Your average consumer on Amazon is not going to buy this nor would they probably have any idea exactly what this is. For those of us who know what it is and how it works we know these tools don’t come cheap so at $100 this is actually not very expensive for an official archival color reference card set .I think I paid that much for my last Pantone guide. Possibly more. This thing is actually a little smaller than you would get from the impression of the pictures. That’s fine by me. It fits in an even small camera case pretty easily and I appreciate how protective the case is while being not very bulky. I have used their software for some color grading and this is just a great way to ensure a consistent color throughout the entire process. For those who may be curious but not know what that says it is a set of color reference cards that you use to match color from the initial photography or video, through the camera into the post processing software and then to the final display be that print or a monitor or television. This will allow you to create color profiles or look up tables specific to the scene and independent of the equipment at use. This is particularly helpful if you’re using multiple cameras on a shoot and it will allow you to match the color profiles from each of the camera lens pairings into your processing software. The reason it’s so expensive is to ensure the color accuracy and colorfastness of the reference cards. People don’t appreciate how difficult it is to get colors that precise consistently.I’m gonna end up using this a lot more than I intended to. Not only does it have a selection of Pantone type colors but a nice little gray scale mapping to you so this will also help you with value as well as hue.Are used a cheaper version of this in the past by only using a grayscale card but going forward I am going to enjoy using this one.

An Easy To Carry Color Calibration Tool
There are times when I can use artistic license in my picture post-processing adjustments of image colors to please myself. BUT, my wife is a quilter - a very enthusiastic and serious maker of colorful quilts. I photograph her quilts and the quilts of other members of her quilt guild. When you photograph a quilt that took a year to create, the quilter expects the image colors to match the quilt colors exactly. That is an unexpectedly difficult thing to do, even if you have the quilt sitting next to you - without the right tools .I have used "x-rite colorchecker classic" for years. It has worked well, but that product is roughly US letter size made of card stock. Great for the studio, but for when on the move - not so much. This product, the "datacolor Spyder Checkr Photo" solves this portability problem. At 2 1/2" by 4 1/2" it is an easy carry. The color samples are safely encased in a hard plastic clamshell case, protecting the fragile color sample cards.I had no difficulty installing and registering the SpyderCheckr software. Yes the license software key is tediously long to hand enter. As has been noted by others, there is a limited set of photo editing programs that work with this software: Adobe Lightroom Classic, Adobe Camera RAW, or Hasselblad Phocus. If you use the listed photo editing software and if you do the setup carefully, you will find the datacolor Spyder Checkr Photo product to be a useful tool for achieving proper color matching when needed.

A Must Have Tool in the Camera Bag
This color card is a must-have tool when color matching is critical in a shoot. There are always other options outside of this tool, such as messing around in post to match colors exactly, but when there are multiple critical pieces in a shot, it can lead to a nightmare in creating masks and adjustment layers. Having a color card handy leads to making sure all the colors you're capturing are exact in color temperature, adequate color representation on screen, and making sure there are minimal color shifts, all in camera, leaving more time for creativity in post.I recently used this in a shoot where models wore purple clothing. The client I was working with told me that when shooting the clothes herself, they would turn blue on her screen. I shot a few test shots, and she was correct, the purple in her clothing is perceived as more blue in the camera. I quickly took out the color card, created a profile, and presto, the purples on the clothing were represented correctly on the computer.Overall, this is a valuable tool for your camera bag, as you never know when you may need this or want accurate color representation in your photos. It takes up very little space, and on top of the color card, there's also a gray card to set color temperature. It's housed in a hardshell plastic case and comes with a nifty lanyard, so you can wear it on set and use it whenever necessary.
