SMALLRIG52mm Magnetic Filter Adapter, Quick Release Magnet Upgraded Phone Lens Filter Ring for Phone Cage/Case with M Lens Mount-3840C

Works perfectly with the SmallRig cage for iPhone 15 Pro. I this adapter along with the SmallRig ND filter and the results were better than I anticipated. Easy to mount/unmount as needed. Does not get in the way of side mounted handles on SmallRig cage for iPhone 15 pro either. One caveat, you can NOT use Apple's mag-safe battery pack when this adapter and filter combo are mounted to the cage. Otherwise a perfect product.

DO NOT buy this item if you plan on using it with an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max. Smallrig makes the false claim on their own website that this accessory is compatible with their iPhone 15 pro, however this is incorrect! I purchased the Smallrig iPhone 15 Pro Max cage along with this adapter and found that this adapter blocks the LIDAR scanner and the rear microphone. On top of that there is general fitment issues and the adapter does not lock into place on the camera plate. After doing some research on the Smallrig site I found out that they DO make a magnetic adapter that is compatible with their iPhone 15 Pro cage however it is currently ONLY available for pre-order and must be purchased in a bundled kit (the Brandon Li Video Kit). The correct adapter for the iPhone 15 Pro has an item # of 3840C - THIS adapter on amazon is 3840B. The fact that you have to learn about this from some random review on Amazon and not from Smallrig’s own website is why I’ve returned everything and will go with the forthcoming PolarPro option instead.

Bought this for my new Brandon Li 15 PM case, it fits and works you just can’t turn it all the way into the “lock” position can only rotate it a little but doesn’t seem like it will fall off just wish it was a solid fit.

I love creative photography using my phone because sometimes it's not feasible to carry a large camera. SmallRig's magnetic filters are perfect for creative photography on the go, or product photography to reduce reflections. This adapter is exactly what I needed for my cage to use my 52mm Smallrig Magnetic filters.I have two smallrig magnetic 52mm filters that I was using with the Univeral Filter Adapter, but now that I have a cage for my phone, it's much easier to use this adapter to snap the filters on instead. I like how you can quickly add or remove filters in a snap and I am slowing converting all of my filters to the magnetic type.Smallrig always makes a quality product that lasts, so it's worth the price. You must have either a case or a cage that supports this adapter to use it. Highly recommend.

Incredibly, the ring gets in the way of a wide shot. Here is Smallrig’s ridiculous fix.“The 52mm magnetic filter adapter ring 3840C that comes with the iPhone 15 pro max cage will block the wide-angle lens of your phone after it is fully installed.You can loosen the adapter ring appropriately until it does not block the wide-angle lens and the filter will not fall off.”

The description was confusing and I was not able to use it as it requires other accessories.

Beautiful piece of kit, works flawlessly, if your looking at setting your iPhone or android phone up for photography or videography, look seriously at the small rig equipment, you’ll be glad you did.

I’m not exactly sure what would cause someone to ever decide to have an expensive filter simply pop off of their camera? Why magnetic? This is sooooo stupid. Please add a threaded option. There is literally nothing else that would work with your proprietary M Mount filter adapter.I already broke a 52mm ND filter because the magnet wasn’t strong enough…If you’re holding something in your hands as small as a phone, then you’re bound to pop any filter off that is attached to it magnetically.I give this one star because of the absolute headache it was to realize (after buying the 67mm adapter as well) that BOTH are magnetic and even at that point ITS STILL PROPRIETARY in that the magnets aren’t even flush mount; they have recessed notches. All in all, creating a magnetic filter for “ease of use” was like trying to solve a problem that didn’t exist.
