Q: is it normal that when you turn these taps off you still get some water coming out for a couple of seconds before it stops properly

Both bath and sink seem to do this on ours too unfortunately.

Q: Hi i need to replace the washer in mine does the tap head just lift off as i can not see a svrew ? Also do i need a special type of washer? Thanks

Hi, I actually have a Bristan basin mixer. These taps will not have standard "old type" tap washers, I think they will need special specific spares. I would suggest you go on the Bristan website for this information and to see exploded views of the unit. Hope this helps
