Not as good as I hoped
These work well for minor wood removal. I would not recommend that for hand making things like axe handles.

Wood rasps.
Inexpensive tools are just Inexpensive. You get what you pay for. I would not buy them again because I use them often but for general use they are OK

They are Just Rank and File
For years I have been using Nicholson files without any issues on the files themselves, but occasionally I would break a handle on them here-and-there and decided to see if this set was any better. I’m keeping them in my garage workshop for use with my garden tools.Upon receiving these files, I noticed a few issues that I don’t have with my Nicholsons.- The metal finishing is comparatively rough and the texturing somewhat uneven.- There was a lot of machine oil coating the files, which I assume is for corrosion resistance during transport, but it was much more than needed.- The listing says that the file teeth are deeply hardened. Apparently, the manufacturer and I have a difference of opinion as to what that means, because with mild use the teeth are already wearing down substantially.Despite my issues, fortunately, the files are a decent thickness, the file patterns are even, and the handles are not crooked. These are just basic no-frills files for the occasional DIYer. If you want something that lasts, however, go for a more well-known brand.

Very rough but functional
I generally have not used rasps before but have been doing more work where one would make things easier so I figured this set would be a good entry point. It seems to work but it really hogs off material. I managed to round over the end of a piece but even glancing an unsupported edge caused a ton of tear out. I suppose much of the function comes down to technique but this does seem incredibly aggressive and not overly consistent. I guess rasps are much like files where you get finer ones and course ones so this is for sure a course set. I refined some of the rounding with a regular file and it seemed to clean up nicely and even better after some sanding.Pretty good set but extremely rough.
