I bought the KastKing Spartacus II reel and had that on a different rod. Long story short- my kid adopted the rod and reel combo so I wanted to buy a spare rod and reel to replace the one I had just lost. Ordered a second Spartacus II reel and was going to order the same rod I had the other reel loaded on, but this rod came up in the section that appears after you place an item in the cart so I clicked the link to look it over.After reviewing the specs I decided to give it a go and placed the order. Glad I did, this is a very nice rod.First, the delivery and packaging: This came very well packaged in a heavy duty tube, the rod itself was wrapped in plastic so there is really no way it could get damaged in delivery unless delivered by Godzilla. Excellent job on the packaging and delivery!The rod comes with an extra tip section, which is awesome. I hope KastKing continues to offer this because we all know that sometimes a rod can get damaged and that damage tends to be the tip of the rod so this will certainly come in handy, maybe. I say maybe because this rod is pretty sturdy and the tip bends quite far.The look and feel: This is an amazing looking rod, and with the Spartacus II reel, you can't beat the combo. It has good action and has a good weight, the cork makes this thing super comfortable and adds to the look of the rod. Personally I love the look and feel of cork handles, and this just looks and feels like a super quality rod. Paired with the Spartacus II reel, this a very nice looking and performing combo. My kid saw the rod and reel combo all set up and dubbed it "the Green Arrow".Overall: I recommend giving this a try, I don't think it will disappoint.

A very nice rod at a budget price . A great all around fishing tool to have on the boat. Light enough to enjoy a smaller fish but enough guts to handle a lunker. Good looking to boot. With a KastKing reel it makes a very versatile combo.

Edited - I have a few KastKing rods and they've held up pretty well - I really appreciate the extra tip because you will break a few so its nice to have a handy replacement - it is responsive, has held up well to some nice sized bass and therefore meets expectations. I'm a budget fisherman and I have a few KastKing rods - Crixus, Spartacus, and Royal Select. Of the three, Crixus is the most brittle but I've lost a few tips on the Spartacus line as well - thank goodness they throw in the second tip, eh? All in all, as a budget brand, KastKing is a viable option but of the three - Royal Select is the best of that bunch with the Spartacus running second, and the Crixus a very distant third. Finally, stay away from their reels - for a few dollars more you can get entry Lews or Abu Garcia which are miles ahead of them.

Spinning rod is light and easy to handle, extra tip is a bonus and value for the money is worth it

Along with a few coils of 6lb and 12 lb mono leader, this setup covers a lot of species and fishing scenarios. Sensitive enough for trout or crappie, with enough backbone for large bass and decent size catfish. This is now the rod/reel that is always in my vehicle, ready to go at a moments notice. It has replaced a much more expensive rod of similar length, weight, and power.Comes in a very sturdy, reusable, and attractive cardboard rod tube with an extra tip section. I like the idea of the hook holder integral to the handle and keeping hooks away from the blank. However, I have found that when carrying the rod, it puts the hook/lure right at your carry hand. Been "jabbed" a few times on my ring finger. Not a deal breaker, I just hook to the first guide foot when I am carrying the rod any distance.

Fantastic fishing rod. The comfort paired with the durability of this rod are perfect. Then you add in the second tip of the rod, it becomes a no-brainer. Try it you won't be disappointed.

I wanted a good fishing rod, but not pay so much since I’m just starting. Very light and durable. Love that it came with an extra second rod tip just in case.

Nice looking rod, but this was supposed to be a medium action. I have a lot of different action fishing rods, and this is more like a medium heavy action. Stiff, Stiff, Stiff.
