This costume is meant to look like Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon, but they probably can’t say that due to licensing. It is a cute costume, but it is definitely costume quality. The cape is already ripping down the center seam after just trying it on, and the fur (leg coverings and hood) sheds like crazy - big tufts all over the floor, just by moving the costume. See photo. It is not soft and fluffy as pictured, but cheap fake fur that is clearly not attached well. It is for this reason it loses a star. 36USD is probably a bit high for the quality, but still reasonably affordable. The sword & shield do not come with the costume, as noted in the description that people seem to not read. Astrid actually uses a double-sided hatchet anyway, so get that if you’re trying to match the character. The sizing is accurate. The Youth Large is what I ordered for my 9yo 4’7” 58lb daughter. It fits her perfectly. BUT we live in a northern state so we need room for sweatshirts, coats, and sometimes snow pants underneath. The top is a tunic/dress so that easily goes over heavy pants, but we struggled to get it over a sweatshirt without risk of ripping the thin material. Size up if you need to wear over a coat. The leg coverings are tubes and will not fit over most boots so you will have to wear with low shoes or cut the fur tubes and tie over tall boots. The cape attaches on each side with a Velcro dot. Consider safety pinning for insurance to not lose it. The cuffs also Velcro and are wide enough to fit over a sweatshirt. The headband was tight so you may want to wear one of your own. Add a side braid with ribbon or leather for a nice extra touch. Grab a stuffie dragon and your look is complete! My daughter was very happy with this costume & felt comfortable in it.

This was a perfect Astrid costume for our 11 year old. Good quality. She's worn it so many times, and it's holding up well.

My (petite) 10yo daughter wore for a Renaissance festival. Nothing amazing or high quality, but cute for the purpose.

For is really small ....I'd say solid size 8 definitely not a 10-12 for the large. Material is really cheap and the fur is already coming off just trying it on. Meh. Would NOT buy again.

the fit is perfect, she tried it on and it looked super cute in her! Quality for the money is worth it and it’s light weight and comfortable! totally kid approved!
