Beautiful, comfortable, accurate, and tough
I have a collection of watches and I always come back to this one. It is my daily driver! Very sturdy and goes well with a lot. The bezel have a great click and the movement is accurate. It will die over the weekend cause I usually wear something else or nothing, but that is expected. Would highly recommend!

Orient Mako 3 Red
The stock photo isn’t completely true to life, and it’s more attractive in person. The dial is more of a subdued brick red / dusty rose color. The bezel is mostly bronze colored with ruby red from 12 to 3. An unusual mix of colors, but they work well together. The bracelet gets a lot of criticism in online reviews, undeserved in my opinion. It’s nicely polished, substantial and classy. It’s a very nice watch that looks more expensive than it is. I expect that’s true of all the color options. Update: After a few weeks of wearing this watch, the accuracy has been really good. Mine runs about a minute or two fast PER WEEK! That’s remarkable for a self winder in this price range.

Love this piece!
My favorite watch to wear right now! So comfortable, looks so great on the wrist, decent time retention especially if you wind it up enough. I feel like this was a great bargain. Would def purchase again if had to.

First Orient
I bought a blue Mako 3 as a daily work watch, and it is an amazing piece of equipment. The automatic movement is very quiet, even the self-winding rotor. The lume is pretty good, lasting most of the night. I like the color, and the 22mm bracelet gives it a look and feel of heft that you miss with some smaller sizes. Even my wife (who said "You bought another watch?") remarked the other night that it was a very nice looking piece. The movement runs about 20 seconds fast per day, but I'll give it a little time to settle in before I worry about adjusting it. It's within their stated tolerances, and I'd rather have it fast than slow. I've only once had it off my wrist long enough to have the movement run down, and their 40 hours of reserve power seems accurate. Definitely will not be my last Orient.

Unmatched looks and performance. Dominates the sub $1k mark!
Any Orient from the Mako 3, Ray 3, or Kamasu 2 series is an incredible buy. In fact, it's baffling that brands like Seiko can still sell their low spec, overpriced desk divers when these Orients are available. This is my second Mako 3, and just as it happened with the 1st one I have to report the watch is way more beautiful in life than in pictures. The watch is pretty enough as it comes out the box, but really levels up when you add a custom bracelet from "Miltat." These bracelets range in price between $60-$90 USD. And yes, the watch is beautiful enough to warrant such upgrades. The 1st pics are featuring the factory bracelet, then with some Nato Straps, then with the Miltat bracelet I recommend, and finally, I show it next to the Kamasu 2, the Ray 3, and many other Orient watches as well for comparison. Conclusion: A watch that cost less than $300 USD, yet comes with an automatic movement with 40 hours of power reserve, 200 meters of water resistance, unidirectional bezel with 60 mins markers, and a unique look and feel. Simply put, there's nothing else like it in the market.

Beautiful watch
Striking colors on the bezel/dial, much more of a 'coffee' or 'beige' than an 'ivory', though (a compliment, in my book). Crown comes out smoothly for hacking and the minute hand remains perfectly still as the crown is pushed back in (something I cannot say about a cheaper movement). Does run a bit fast after about 24-hrs, but I really don't mind taking a few seconds to hack it to slow it down while I admire the design. It's my third Orient and none has been anything less than excellent for the price.

Disappointing
Initial review, really not impressed. Giving it a few days, but it is likely to be sent back. Negatives: 1. Watch made in Thailand, not in Japan; the movement "maybe" made in Japan, did not open to check. 2. Dial looks great in graphics renderings, but not in person. The hour indices are not outlined in black, but in silver, which makes it all barely distinguishable and very hard to tell the time in daylight. 3. Lume is less bright and does not last as long as Orient Commuter. This is "Diver" watch, should have much better lume. AliX watches have better lume, costing 1/3-1/5 of this. 4. Bezel is slightly misaligned and has some back play. 5. Bracelet has no solid end links, no quick release, is clunky, heavy, with no taper towards the clasp. The clasp is stamped and low quality. Positives: 1. Runs +5 sec/day. Orient used to be very good, what happened?

Nice clean looking watch. Keeps good time for a budget automatic. One thing to note, for watches in this price range the bracelet is light and feels cheap.
