A refreshing must have!
Some really good obscure tracks on here - I only bought it after hearing the Marc Bolan track on Radio 2's Sound of the Sixties show - and found that this compilation is filled with excellent tracks with only a couple of fillers. Hearing something as mainstream as the Small Faces in the middle of it does catch you off guard, but don't let that put you off. If you listen to a lot of `popular' music of this era & genre, this album is a refreshing must have!

Love it
The 1960's created so many musical scene's and far too often they are ignored on compilations who churn out the same old same old time and time again, but this collection of the rawer sounds being generated is impressive and essential for any one who claims to be a Mod or even maybe a New Psychedelia sort...

Good..but check out The Mod Scene
I bought another in this series (The Mod Scene) & was very impressed with the quality of the songs & the sounds so decided to try this too..personally I don't think this is as good as there are a couple of dud tracks but overall a good cd with some unusual & surprising songs..I'd definitely recommend both cd's..certainly worth the money & you may well find 'your new favourite band'!!

Get us back to British RnB at it's best with a great selection of groovy one hit wonders and a few cover songs, like the Beatles 'please please me' and Monkees ' I'm not your stepping stone'.If you like this kinda music then it's a really good collection.

Freakbeat Scene
These are an excellent collection of releases from the Decca vaults with Freakbeat being one of the best, with some very, very interesting tracks, like the version of "Please please me" by The Score - where else would you find that?
