So, this does work for 4c hair, but not all day in our experience...half a day usually. So, bring your edges brush and the gel with you to reapply if you're gone all day. My daughter is 3c and it holds really well for her hair. Best in the around $5 range.

Q: Is this like other edge controls? Sticky?

Yes it is and it's sticky. Didn't really work that well for my hair texture which is curly, but it smells good.
