After buying a thinner pizza stone and seeing it break first time we used it, we decided to buy a Vesuvo stone. The stone is substantial and does what it is sold to do. Pizza's cooked on this stone are great. Granted the leaflet with the stone is in German, but I put the stone into the oven heated it to 250c for 40 minutes before cooking the pizza's. 5 adults, 4 children were eating pizza within 7 minutes of starting , all agreed that the pizza's were as good ( if not better ) as pizza's from the takeaway or the Italian restuarant . If you use semolina to dust the paddle with the pizza's slide off onto the stone with ease, and when cooked the paddle lifts them off again easily. After cooking pizza's I left the stone to cool down, then all was needed was a quick wipe with a damp cloth, then packing it in the box it comes in so it keeps clean until it is required again.Well worth the money , a great product, far better than the thin pizza stones that can't take high temperatures without breaking.

great
superb stone, nice and thick. it is giving great results but you do need to heat it up for a good 20-30 min before using to really get the heat in - retains heat for a very long time after. Thinking of buying a 2nd because we always do pizzas when people are over and you can only do 1 at a time! As this is so expensive I will probably try a cheaper optionWooden peal is useless; definitely buy this stone but get a metal peel.

No more soggy bottoms!
Having looked at and rejected several other options whilst looking for a baking stone, too thin, wrong size/shape, too expensive, I came upon this one. On receipt I was first impressed by the packaging then by the weight and thickness of the stone, a really substantial thing. After first use I was convinced, beautiful crisp bottom to my loaf, can't ask for more. Not used for pizza yet but cannot imagine it being less than brilliant. Not so impressed with the cheap wooden peel but none the less a great buy.

Pizza party at mine
My first stone was a thin round one and broke after a couple of uses. As I loved making and eating pizzas, I invested in this beast. Worth every penny. Very thick and heavy, and works a treat. Be mindful though, it takes about 45mins to heat through.

The included mix was nice and easy to make
The pizza stone here is definitely heavy duty. Be under no illusion its size when you're purchasing it!The slice works well, although is a little cheap. The included mix was nice and easy to make.If you're looking to do pizzas on your BBQ outside, I suggest a thinner stone - especially if you wish to use a Kettle Pizza Oven.

Pizza's getting better at home
Pretty good nothing to complain about here, the wooden pizza lifter is a bit sensitive and requires care (a metal one would be better) however have begun to make some decent home made pizzas - note the stone is not entirely responsible for you pizza if you make bad dough that's your fault.
