My granddaughter loves this!
I bought this for her for Christmas and she’s already growing flowers! Very good quality with good instructions and a great value for the money. You will potting soil, but it doesn’t tell you that.

Cute idea, poor execution
Others said this was hard to put together, but I didn’t have too much trouble. What was an issue is the fact that the watering trough isn’t level, so all the water goes to one side and then overflows and makes a giant mess.

Cute toy
My husband has a garden and my daughter loves to help with what she can. I saw this and thought it would be a great thing they can do together. He helped her build it, pick out some seeds and set it up. This is what he has to say about it.The instructions for this thing should be really simple, instead it too difficult for no reason. See, the made the clear plastic parts clear in the manual, but printed on a black background. So while you can read it's the Wall-A, you cannot see the orientation it should be snapped in. And for the side walls, they can be snapped in two ways, one is wrong, and guess which way we chose. And since they snap in, it's almost takes breaking it to get it out. We did finally get everything put together, but the instructions were a pain. After getting all the soil and pots put together, we tried out the irrigation system. So..... the water goes in the cup, and sits in the half pipe. They just would not drip, and we waited for a bit. Finally we opened it up and game them each a tap on the bottom where the water is supposed to drip from. Well, that did activate it, but it came out really uneven and random. One of the pots overflowed and we had to open it up, take everything out, and help control the water situation. Hopefully it works the second try when some of the pots dry. The light is a nice touch and makes it seem real, but put this in the sun, the light takes 3 AAA batteries, and there is no way that's enough to do anything but waste all your batteries by being on all day. But, she loves it and it was super fun putting together with her, even with the hassle. So I can't take too many stars away, it is a toy, and I did notice it said preschool on it, so... I think this is definitely above preschool level, so if you are buying it for a kid that young, expect to do most of the work.

Disappointed
This did not work out at all as I was hoping it would. The water does not evenly drip out slowly, it just dumps into certain sections all at once and floods. The light lasted 2 days on brand new batteries so that’s now useless, too. Overall, a huge waste of money

Loved it but Murders Batteries
My 11 year old loves growing things and gardening and I knew he would be thrilled with this set. He set it up easily and it came with everything it needs except for the seeds. It even looks great as you can see from the photos with the labels for each seed pot and has two different types of lighting. The drip irrigation system works very well too. Other than assembly, The instructions are a little lacking, I had to reread this over description a few times to notice the blurb about which light is used when. A little more growing guidance would have been appreciated. Our biggest complaint and the reason for the three stars was that this greenhouse really eats batteries. We were surprised how quickly it goes through a set. Three AAA batteries in 4 days is going to get really expensive. My 11-year-old even asked why did it not come with the cord so we could just plug it into the outlet? That would be my suggestion to the manufacturer. I would give it of five stars if not for the heavy battery usage. An AC cord option would solve the problem. Now it is possible it was using the yellow light all day instead of the LED light and maybe that is why the battery usage was so heavy. We will run it through another set of batteries and see if there is any longer usage on the LED light. I will update this review as needed.
