Ingredients are in American measure
Love the book and recipes but would have liked an index of the measurements of the ingredients as it in cups and I don't live in American I live in England

A lovely cookbook but NOT wholly plant based recipes!
This arrived today and I have just read my way through it this afternoon. I was taken aback to find she uses egg, Greek Yogurt and Feta cheese in quite a few recipes. I bought this as it was advertised as a plant based cookery book. The recipes sound delicious and in a few, she does provide a NOTE* on how to do a 'vegan' alternative. I would not have spent this amount of money on a book which is obviously not wholly plant based! Her publisher needs to revise some of the recipes and take away the words plant based!!

Very easy to follow recipes.
I love the book as the recipes are very tasty and easy to make. Also, one can see Dianna’s videos showing the different steps.

Would recommend
I made the Lettuce Heart Salad today. I'm not a cook so the recipes are pretty difficult for my skill level. The salad was very good. My husband was impressed. I will be making one new recipe a week from the book, as it's a little stressful for me. I wish there were pictures of every dish but I'll figure it out. We really like the information about the health benefits of using certain ingredients over others. It is more than just recipes. I would recommend. It's a beautiful book.

So many delicious recipes I want to try!
I love learning about traditional foods, and Greek food is one of my favourites because it's so veggie and herb-focused.I'm a big fan of Diane Kochilas, and have several of her other cookbooks and love her show My Greek Table on PBS. I'm also trying to fit more vegetables into my diet, so I was really looking forward to this book. This is not a vegan cookbook. For most recipes, she will offer suggestions if you want to make it vegan (such as "if you want to make this vegan, use vegan yogurt instead"). I'm not vegan so that didn't bother me at all. The recipes that do include eggs or dairy don't include much, so they're still very heavily vegetable and bean-focused.There are no dessert recipes, which I'm fine with. The bean chapter excited me the most. So many recipes I want to try! I don't eat enough of them but these recipes look delicious.I have given it a 4 instead of 5 because of a few things.I was surprised, as other reviewers mentioned (and she admits this), that she included ingredients like tofu, which are not Greek at all. She also included smoothies, which I'm pretty sure are not traditional in Ikaria lol. I wish that she had stuck to only traditional recipes.Another thing missing were breakfast ideas. If we want to eat like Ikarians, then we need to know how they eat for every meal! Not just lunch and dinner. And lastly, she included some ingredients that are pretty much only available online, like mastiha. So that's inconvenient. But even still, there are so many great recipes here that I'm really excited to try. So the book is definitely worth the purchase!

My new favorite cookbook
I recently had the pleasure of exploring a Greek cookbook The Ikaria Way by Diane Kochilas , and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The recipes in this book are not only easy to make, but they also utilize readily available ingredients, making it convenient for anyone to try their hand at Greek cuisine. One particular recipe that I tried from the cookbook (Black Neans and Sweet Potato) turned out to be absolutely fabulous. The combination of flavors was simply delightful, and the end result was a delicious dish that left me wanting more. What truly impressed me about this cookbook is its emphasis on incorporating vegetables into the recipes. As someone who is always looking for ways to eat more vegetables, this book has been a game-changer for me.Not only does this cookbook provide mouthwatering recipes, but it also serves as a helpful guide to exploring the vibrant and healthy world of Greek cuisine. Whether you are a seasoned cook or a beginner in the kitchen, this cookbook offers clear and concise instructions that make the cooking process a breeze.Overall, I highly recommend this Greek cookbook with recipes from the Ikaria region. It has not only introduced me to new and exciting flavors but has also inspired me to incorporate more vegetables into my daily meals. If you're looking for a cookbook that combines ease of preparation, deliciousness, and a focus on healthy eating, look no further. This cookbook is a must-have addition to your culinary collection.
