Gentle and excellent shave!
I have sensitive skin, but I had read reviews that Cella was fine for sensitive skin, so I tried it and I love it! The scent is a mild almond cherry and is very pleasing. It doesn't make me sneeze or irritate my skin, which is always my problem with soaps. It is a soft cream/soap and it lathers exceptionally well. The foam is slick and protective, and it is tied for the best performing soap I have, along with Proraso white and Mitchell's Wool Fat. I've only used it for a week, so I don't know how long the puck will last, but since it's a croap I doubt it'll last as long as the hard soaps. Still, it's a fantastic shaving experience and well worth every penny. Right now it's my favorite shaving soap and I highly recommend it!Edit: I had assumed that since it was not a hard soap that it wouldn't last long, but I've had it for months and have barely made a dent in it. It's only been these past few weeks that I've been using it everyday though. Still, I've used it enough to say that it is a great buy for the money.

Glad I gave it a second try. Very enjoyable shave!
I tried cella a few years back and for whatever reason it irritated my face. Recently I have had better success with many creams and soaps that were once very irritating. I’ve gotten away from alcohol splashes and learned that I need to use a face lotion. Even the cheap Gold Bond face lotion is better than the alcohol splashes for me.With that said, I tried (again) the traditional almond cella after having good success and comfortable shaves with its cousin the green cella. Red Cella is better as a creamy soap for shaving. It is a little slicker and tends to whip up a little better. The Green Aloe version seems to leave a little drag especially with a DE blade. But the Green is still great in its own way.Cost is still reasonable for this product. A little on the high side, but I think this is on par with the British Creams. I really think Truefitt and Hill is top notch stuff, and for half of the cost, this is easily on par for half of the cost.Last note, I highly recommend you check out Cellas aftershave balms. Both red and green are great. They seem to be loaded with shea butter and the fragrances are both enjoyable. I dislike frgrances in my aftershaves because they make me sneeze and play with my allergies a little bit, but both green and red balms are subtle in scent, both are very clean smelling, and the moisturizing properties are top tier. I think I like the red fragrance a little better. Its more soapy/cologne-like while the green is a peppery/spicy scent.

Great product
Subtle and pleasant scent. Soap builds a nice lather and doesn't dry out my skin. Would definitely recommend and I plan to purchase again. Have been using for a few months now and probably will last a few more. I shave 5-6 days per week.

Different
In a sea of men’s shaving crèmes with woodsy, “masculine” scents, this Cella almond scented shaving creme is interesting. The packaging describes it as a “heady” almond scent and they aren’t kidding about that- it’s stronger than I imagined- but not in a bad way. If you don’t enjoy the scent of almond cookies, this may not be for you. I definitely have to be in a particular mood to shave with this, but it’s a unique shaving experience. As a shaving crème, it’s pretty good; creates a decent foam and seems to protect as well as your average shaving crème. Doesn’t gunk up a razor too much and rinses away quickly. The scent doesn’t seem to linger much after shaving- especially if you follow with a scented aftershave- so you don’t need to worry about smelling “sweet”. It’s a fun option to have; I don’t think I’d use it for daily shaving, but it’s an amusing “novelty” shave from time to time.

Great Soap
This is great soap. I've been trying out shaving soaps and this lathers up just as well, maybe better, than a number of the more expensive soaps. Using saving soap is a bit of an art. You've got to get the right soap to water ratio and mix it with a decent brush. It seems that stiffer brushes work better with soaps. A boar hair, pure badger, or super badger brushes are probably better than a silver tip badger, but a lot of people really prefer the soft silver tip brush and you can mix up lather with them. Practice and experimenting will pay-off. This would be a great soap to start out with because it is inexpensive and of a higher quality. My first soap was a cheap Walmart soap. It taught me how bad a soap can be and it really was like using hand soap. That soap smelled cheap. Cella has a fresh almond scent, which is not overwhelming and dissipates so that it does not conflict with other aftershaves or colognes. Cella would also make a good long term soap. I don't mean imply it is only for beginners and it will be in my cabinet for a long time to come. Happy shaving.Oct 1---A lot of folk really like to use a badger shave brush, and I will admit that the softer bristles are nice, but as I mention above a stiffer brush can work well with soaps. I have a super badger brush and my brother has a pure badger. The silver tip is the softest and the super is a middle soft/stiff badger brush. I have been using the super badger for some time and like it with the soap, but I decide to pick up a quality boar hair out of curiosity. (Vulfix makes several and you can find them here on Amazon). Don't be afraid to give these boar hair brushes a try. They are of a lower price but not of a lower quality. My boar hair is incredible with this Cella soap. I mean really amazing. I am getting my best lather yet! The best lather I ever got from a can was Nivea sensitive skin (I still like that stuff. If you got to get a can, get Nivea). But with the boar brush and the Cella soap I am getting an even thicker rich lather! than the Nivea or the Cella with the super badger. Give the boar hair a try. A great shave does not have to be expensive.
