When I was a young scout (in the 70's), we would cut construction plastic for ground cloths for the tents. When we did this, we cut small squares just large enough to sit upon. We would fold up our "butt plastic" and put it in our pockets like handkerchiefs, so that whenever we had to sit on the ground or on a log, we wouldn't get our bottoms wet and/or dirty. This does the same thing, but in an even more compact, elegant way. I've only used it on one camping trip so far, so I don't know how it will hold up over time yet, although I suspect it will hold up better than the plastic did. Having the little case to hold it in is simply a bonus!

Coolest, most compact ground cloth you could ask for. I carry it in my jeans pocket, where it doesn't even make a bump, and when I want to sit down on damp ground I can feel free to do so without getting my clothes wet or muddy. This photographer's photographer's best friend.

Bought this so I wouldn't have to carry a foldable stool to concerts, and this does its job better than I expected. Perfect when you actually sit on it, but I found it a bit difficult to set down due to the size and how light it was (it fluttered with barely a blow of wind). Putting it back in its bag can be a challenge if you don't follow the folds, so I would suggest doing it a couple times before actually using it so you know how to fold it. But, as described, it kept my butt dry and clean.

Folded up, it’s smaller than a credit card and about the thickness of 3. Perfect for what I wanted: a cover for ground or head that has near-zero footprint inside a purse.
