Kenwood KMR-XM500 eXcelon Marine & Motorsport Waterproof Digital Media Receiver with Corrosion Resistance & Bluetooth

I needed this specific radio for a truck I'm building. The center console wont allow a standard DIN radio to fit, due to added ac vents, gauges, ect. It only needed a round opening, and is shorter than a standard DIN head unit. If you need a 12v head unit, and have a unique space requirement, this is a perfect option. My favorite feature is...the BLUETOOTH WORKS LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO! I have had plenty of bluetooth head units that were sketchy or erratic, but this one automatically connects to my phone as soon as the truck starts. Pros: Its smaller than a single DIN. Has 3 pre-outs Camera input Functionality (back up camera) Very easy to wire up. similar to every other 12v Head unit. Equalizer is quite good, with plenty of adjustment. subwoofer on/off right on the face very durable and clearly well made. Bluetooth works flawlessly Ability to disable speaker outputs if running a fully amped setup. Adjustable led color. Cons: It doesn't sit flush. Didn't bother me at all, but just be mindful it does stick out about .5" You have to be able to access the back of the panel to install. There's no type of mounting that will allow you to push it into a basket like a DIN receiver. So you will need to pop off whatever panel you install it on, put the mounting ring on, and then replace the panel, OR access it from behind.

Fit into old round Jenson head unit hole. all wiring basically the same as all head units. Unit is a huge upgrade for us because the Jenson was oh so difficult to connect BT wise. this unit connect very quickly by the touch of a button no scrolling through multi touch screens. I would buy again. Sound quality is also way better.

Excelente radio

So far so good. I was nervous spending the money on this unit compared to other more brand name marine audio companies. I pulled the trigger because it fit into a standard guage hole no drilling required. Bluetooth range is great, sound quality is good and love that it has a knob for the volume and sub gain on the face. Menu isn't super intuitive but once you get it not bad. Cool the back light changes colors. Time will tell how long it lasts in the saltwater environment. I really wish it came with or you could buy a cover for it to keep the elements at bay.

Connects to Bluetooth fast. Works well in 2025 Polaris ranger with a mount for center dash. Would be nice to control volume via phone, however
