We may think we life in a metric world but anyone who is an engineer knows that imperial is still in common use, particularly on items of equipment sold in the US and Canada as well as the rest of the world. Yes, I know that Canada is metric - but its not really.So, I have a leaf vacuum - wheeled - that had dropped a bolt from the air inlet to the engine. And having checked I realised that the nuts and bolts were standard - in American speak or Imperial in British speak - because the unit was sold in the US as well as the UK.And of course I needed some standard NC bolts which thankfully due to the internet and Amazon are easy to get. Given that its always useful to have a few bits around for this sort of thing I bought this box of bits which neatly solved my problem.Mild steel NC nuts and bolts in a sensible size range for small jobs on garden sized engines. Good buy and saved me a trip to the tool repair centre which I'm sure would have relieved my wallet of 50 quid for 'servicing' my leaf vac.Incidentally, for those who might be into pub quizzes, the little threaded hole on the bottom of cameras is 1/4" Whitworth.

You just never know when you might need a replacement nut or bolt.
