If it sat between the base and the top it wouldn't but I've no idea how it'd be doneI adore this thing.Originally I got a yarn winder to use. It was lovely, but if you wanted a no tug release, you had to leave it loose and deal with it collapsing and knotting shortly in, and constant rewinding. I had to buy ace bandages to hold it together, which defeated the purpose.This though? A delight. I need to move it, I currently have it on a small shelf slightly above me. Need to move it down, as above it will slightly catch when at the top of the ball. I imaging below would do the same thing in the other direction.I was surprised at how well the magnet holds. It lets it spin so nicely.its really easy to set up, just guild the rod carefully through the hole of the yarn ball. I will admit, I'm not sure how this holds up once you get to the floppy end of a yarn ball.I got it in black and it looks great.Considering I mostly use 2.5oz balls of cotton yarn for amigurumi's, I imagine this can take some pretty fat rolls. Though I am unsure how much weight it can handle.It doesn't feel cheap, especially for the price point. It's a great deal honestly. The winder cost a smidge less but the need for ace bandages brought it's price over that. So way worth it imo. No flopping balls of yarn. No looking at the bad reviews on yarn bowls and feeling trepidation. Just a nice easy unwinding that keeps your yarn at a perfect length and never needs to be pulled.

Easy to put together, made of high quality wood. Works as described. Who ever thought of this is brilliant! The best thing since sliced bread. No more tangled yarn. The magnet is strong and stays where it's supposed to and twirls the yarn very smoothly. Best tool ever to use with yarn. I will bring it to my craft group and show them how easy it is to use.Thank you.

I already had high expectations, but I'm blown away! The yarn spins at just the right speed as you work so there's never really any tension.I got the bamboo one and it is very solid and nicely finished. I love the look of the bamboo. It's too big to fit in a regular sized purse, but it's still rather portable so as long as you have a surface somewhere near you it works like a dream. The set up is easy, no instructions needed. Probably took me a minute or two.

Ok so I purchased this yarn holder because I have heard so many talk about the ease of using and how it makes the flow of crochet/knitting so much easier. (I have always been a center pull gal) So with that I decided to order and see for myself. Was I happy! This has made it so much easier for my time crocheting. I ordered the plus side holder and it fits a regular size skein (Red heart supper saver, big twist etc) easy. A one pounder will not fit. The holder was very easy to assemble and is very stable. Love the design (color options) and is also easy to travel with. Well worth the cost.

I wish I could give this 10 stars. Excellent price and excellent design. It was pretty simple to build. It definitely helps to keep the yarns in order. Not heavy at all, so easy to carry.It is definitely an improvement to my crochet process.

I never knew what I was missing but now I'm hooked on this yarn holder. I was keeping my yarn ball in a small duffle and had to keep pulling out yarn every couple of minutes and had the ball bouncing all over the inside of the duffle. Then I had the additional problem of the yarn getting snagged by the duffle's zipper and I'd have to fix it. I've only been using this yarn holder for a few days but it's making my like so much easier and speeding up my crocheting considerably. It's hard to believe it's taken me so long to learn about this product. Even my half-used ball easily slid onto the spindle so I didn't have to start fresh with a new ball or skein. It's very sturdy and looks really great, too.

Don’t know why I didn’t buy a log time ago. It works flawlessly, yarn comes off with just a small tug. There are a few shapes of yarn that don’t work but it is still worth it. Magnet is very strong. I lov this so much and thankful I picked this one.

I really like this yarn holder. It makes my crocheting faster and easier. Shipping was good. There was a coupon included to get another spindle free, which I requested. Received a reply that they were short on supply so not sure when, or if, I will ever receive that. The reason for 4 stars is because after 2 weeks of daily use the magnet that holds the spindle onto the stand came out. I am going to glue it back in but I do feel it should be secured better.
