Lindsey Kelk’s best yet!
Phoebe Chapman is visiting her sister Suzanne in LA, but when Suzanne has to go away for work for most of Phoebe’s visit, Suzanne’s friend Bel takes her under her wing and shows her the sights of LA. I loved Bel, she was hilarious!! One of those sights being Phoebe’s now neighbour Ren, who Bel happens to have a huge crush on. Phoebe decides to play matchmaker and attempts to set Ren and Bel up, but thing don’t go exactly to plan when Phoebe finds herself falling for Ren herself!I always love Lindsey Kelk’s books so I knew that Love Me Do would be no different, but I think it even exceeded the high expectations I already had.It has all of Lindsey’s usual ingredients - humour, romance, a loveable cast of characters, wit…but I just felt like it was giving even more. It’s hard to explain but I felt like it had real meaning behind it and that meaningfulness really made me FEEL and struck a chord. The idea of not having to constantly apologise for feeling the way that we feel. The idea that our feelings are valid. The idea that we are believed when we talk about the trauma and abuse that we have suffered, not just fobbed off. The idea that it’s okay to be who we want to be and to make decisions based on our own feelings, not just the feelings of others. The book conveyed such important messages and I really liked that. I liked that I got the summery, rom com, feel good vibes, but that I’ve also come away feeling like I’m really taking something from the book in terms of my own feelings and identity.Big shout out for Myrna for being the most iconic character!!! She gave me the old man out of The Holiday vibes cross between Evelyn Hugo, I LOVED her! Such a wise, unapologetically herself, hilarious lady. We all need a Myrna in our lives.

Lindseys best book!
I won't do spoiler review but I seriously loved this start to finish. Phoebe was a fabulous main character and her sister, new friend Bel, Ren the sexy neighbour and Myrna the movie star were a fab supporting cast of characters. The story was funny and heartwarming but also didn't shy away from darker subject matters like emotionally abusive relationships and grief. I can't even put into words how I loved each relationship and the LGBTQ rep was done fantastically, I was off the back of binging Heartstopper season 2 so my emotions were high and I happy cried. Okay enough mushiness I will leave you with:"Who decides when to give it a name and what to call it?" I'll tell you who. Lindsey does and its called 'knicker flicker' and has replaced 'fanny flutter' in my vocab. Please go read this book

This is THE book of the summer!
I've been a fan of Lindsey Kelk's books for a while and eagerly anticipate her new books because she's an author who keeps getting better. While her books are often set against themes of love and relationships, she underpins her storytelling with intelligent observations of friendships, self-esteem, feminism and self-realisation.My favourite characters in her books might just be the matriarchs - the grandmothers and older, wiser women who pass on their wisdom to the protagonist.Love Me Do is another triumph from Lindsey and she is one author I will never tire of reading. Ever.

You are a true master of your craft!Phoebe, Suzanne, Bel, Ren, and Myrna are just the most amazing cast of characters. I absolutely want to climb inside my kindle and live in this book!! Oh, and I loved the OANLT cameo!!There was nothing I didn't adore about this book, except that it ended. I can't wait to read it again. **chef's kiss**
