Silence of The Nine (The Cartel Publications Presents)

I’ve been in a reading funk, and my sister recommended I go back to one of the authors who started my love for reading. She recommended this series in particular. I’ve always been a fan of T. Styles but realized I missed out on quite a few good books. With Nine and Leaf and that pen you better never put down, my reading faith has been restored!

Kerrick was a monster. He really didn't care about anyone. Well, anyone except his first wife. After her everyone else was just really a pawn. Until Nine. He didn't realize the reason she became the way she did was really his own fault. He saw his wife in her & he was haunted. So he kept her locked away. Not knowing she was being educated well. She was really a weapon & that came back to bite him.

I didn't know what to expect when I bought this book because although I am a true fan of T. Styles her books can be twisted. When I read other reviews and learned that this book would deal with incest I figured it would be another one of those books like Raunchy where based on the topic you wanted to hate it but because of T. Styles pen skills you loved it and that was somewhat the case because the level of incest within the Prophet family astounding. I mean this family was sick especially the head of the family Kerrick. Surprisingly as I read I found this to be so much more. I found this to be more about overcoming. Nine suffered so much abuse at the hands of her grandfather and her cousin but she never allowed them to break her and eventually because of her strength and determination she was able to turn her situation around and ended up being on top. All the abuse she endured at the hands of others would not go unpunished. Although Fran wasted her life, the love, kindness and life lessons that she taught Nine proved to be invaluable in Nine's rise to the top. I really enjoyed this book. It was truly a page turner and held my attention from beginning to the end.

If you think you read anything about twisted families, you have not read this book!! This book is definitely a page turner! Whenever I had to put the book down I did whatever I had to do quick, fast & in a hurry just to get back to the page I left off. I think T.Styles is a phenomal author...I dont think there was a book by her that I didnt like.You reap what you sow is a great message for this book. Kerrick was a freaking monster and he always got his way or shall I say danced his way around the ladies. What he did to Fran was just unnecessary and sick. Victoria was his ride or die no matter what the circumstances was even when it involved their children despite knowing that Kerrick was wrong. But how he treated his children was down right mean, evil, twisted & disgusted that is until Nine came into existance!!Nine...she had me man...I was angry for her, I wanted revenge for her..I wanted to save her but she saved herself and they never knew what was coming. Nine is definitely bad ass and lethal and was more and more like Kerrick!

This book is by far the best work T. Styles has blessed us with!! I was intrigued from the first page! This book tapped into my every emotion. I cried, laughed and got mad as hell. The character Nine is gonna find a special place in your heart! Her character is captivating!!! What sets T. Styles apart from the other street lit authors is she writes stories that others are scared to touch. While others are busy writing about big time dope dealers and their beautiful trophy wives, she's the voice of the darkest characters ever imaginable. The mentally disturbed, poor, black, ugly and broken in spirit characters are what she creates. The people in the world that have been overlooked. This book included. You have Kerrick who despite being a proud African native, sells out to his culture to fit in with the American dream that he discovers is more like a nightmare! Do yourself a favor and order this book NOW!! You will NOT be disappointed! This will be one of the best reading experiences you will have! Trust me!!~Ms. Metha

You really have to have an open mind and imagination when you open up a T.Styles book. The one thing I can always be assured of is that she is going to give you a story you never read or could even think of. Nine is a complex character who rises beyond anyone's belief. Her family lifestyle is one that is often shunned but some reason I was able to fully understand. I may or may not agree with the lifestyle but with T.Styles writing, you just enjoy the story. What I also admire and like is the fact that the author will mention other characters in other books she has written and they all tie in together. (please note after reading this book, I bought Nefarious, All 3 Pretty Kings books and GOON). I met this author a few years ago and I told her that I would forever be a fan, and she is till holding my attention, 105 (just kidding-lol) books later.

I have to admit T.Styles took a different approach with this novel however, remember, T always take her readers to places must wouldn't. That's what I love about her style!! Its new and refreshed, not the same old boring hood rich dragged out storyline.Review: Being born into Africa, Kendricks, makes plans with his wife to come to America and live the 'dream' just as he ready to go, the sins he's been committing has caught up with him. Sticking to his plan of action he arrives to the USA only to experience rejection & ridicule, making his already harden heart harder.As the years progresses and finally at the status he wants and believe He deserves, he starts doing the unthinkable, to keep his blood line clean.But things chg as his last grandchild is born... Nine, with a spirit of Kendricks and a body and face of his first love, soon Kendricks will learn he should've killed her when she slipped out the womb.

From start to finish this book full of surprise ..1st time reading a book by this author definitely not the last..gonna purchase the other book in this series

Well done Toy Styles! Another excellent book in the Prophet family saga.Can't wait for book 3 to see how this concludes.
