B-52 Stratofortress Illustrated

Copious pictures and great overall reference for the B-52 from its inception to today. There are a good number of images I haven't seen previously. Mind you that while this isn't a rivet-counter level reference there is plenty of detail for the modeler or historian.There are two reasons that I didn't give this book a higher rating; low-end images and lack of a unit-by-unit history. The pictures are great, but when the reader tries to zoom-in they pixelate quickly, leaving the reader wishing for better detail. As for a section on units/squadrons, I hope that the author will some day provide an addendum that goes unit-by-unit complete with unit insignia, buffs with special markings ( such as the 410th B-52 with the b-day stripes) and a short synopsis of noteworthy events.Overall, recommended.

Have time in both G and H models....and with launches and landings in the worst of conditions particularly with significant cross winds, snow and near blizzard conditions and it always did its job. From Red Flag kicking up dust across the approach to target in Red Flag....and like Strangelove approaches..loosing all power high over the Bearing Sea....definitely entertaining. Impressive when all loaded up with nukes and standing in the bomb bay between such sanitary looking devises of war. Great plane indeed and this short story book says it all...would have liked to see more Minot AFB pictures and the conditions it was challenged with.

Some information was a new,some I would beg to differ,great book for people who didn't know what the buff is or history about this awesome machine.

A great book by a most notable author of the most famous and still very much a weapon platform that can put the fear of God in you, both Nuclear and Conventionally. Her capabilities and delivery systems of any top weapons put her on the "Don't Mess With Me!!! List.AMC

Always a fan of Lou Drendel.This is just another of his informative and colorful works on an iconic airplane.But you also get some of the “human” side of things, not just the machine.Highly Recommended.

Fantastic overview of the worlds most iconic strategic bomber, a great informative read with plenty of illustrations for the modeller and researcher alike.

A superbly illustrated book which a great addition to my library of military books. Printed in the UK too!!! Well worth the modest price.
