You definitely have to hold it steady and wack it hard to get the cutter into the pumpkin. It works great though and made it so much easier for kids. I even made one and just loved how it turned out. Definitely sharp and durable. While hitting some of them kinda separated but was easy to put back together and no worries afterwards. Size is great for big or smaller pumpkins because the different sizes. The mallet and tools were comfortable to use and were a perfect size as well. Definitely recommend if you don’t want to carve but still want nice looking pumpkins. Also great for little kids!

At the top of the cutters, be careful as seen in the pictures, they can cut or scratch you when trying to push or pull through the pumpkins. Our kids almost got cut. They should not have an opening at the top like this, it is sharp. All the cutters are like this. Other than this issue, we had fun with these cutters, the kids really enjoyed using them. It made pumpkin carving simple & fun.

We ordered these last minute to help the kiddos with pumpkin carving! We were nervous at first since we usually have them paint the pumpkins. With a little assistance the kids were able to carve their own pumpkins and enjoyed it so much! I would definitely recommend this purchase! Even the adults had a great time!
