Great value, very interesting
I had been looking at these book nooks and seeing them on social media for a while. This is the first I’ve bought and here’s my review.Assembly - I am mechanically inclined, but I haven’t put together a puzzle in ages. This was a little challenging after a long day at work. Recommend setting aside some quiet time for it, and don’t force yourself through. There are a few steps that are tricky and I made some mistakes here and there. There are also some steps where you aren’t clicking the pieces together, but using glue. They supply the glue in a squeeze bottle and it dried really fast so not really an issue. Altogether, this took me a few hours while watching TV and it was mentally engaging but not difficult.I was always skeptical as to the power and having to change batteries. Some of these books books have a remote control, some are switched on and off physically on the product itself, and some (like this one) have a motion sensor. I am probably most impressed with the motion sensor. I placed this in a high traffic area, and I worried about the lights being on too much (getting annoying and draining batteries), but it doesn’t trip unless you get close to it, and then it goes off in a minute or two. I specifically was worried it might be distracting during a movie, but not at all. It really doesn’t trigger unless your almost leaning toward it to peek into the scene — It’s perfectly calibrated, and will only detect things approaching a few feet away.Furthermore, it takes 3 AA batteries in the back. I actually prefer that over AAA and expect them to last a lot longer over AAA’s. Also, you can get rechargeable AA’s here on Amazon that are 2900mAh and they have a ton of battery life. They are the yellow ones if you search for them. I have 3 of those in the back of this and don’t expect to replace for some time - thanks again to that well designed sensor to trigger the lights only when necessary. This isn’t a product you want to regularly change the batteries in, it’s rather delicate and it is going to find itself sandwiched between books. It’s nice to not have to worry about battery swaps. Some other notes - I put this on a small shelf and still think it looks nice. I have many books elsewhere in the house, but wanted this in an area where it will be seen. Thankfully, even on a small shelf, it doesn’t devour everything around it. And you can even leave it as a standalone piece somewhere. Some of the edges will wind up unfinished. I quickly went over those with a black paint pen. I also flipped the bottom piece (where the sensor pokes through) over to the other blank side, and went over that in black. Also with a paint pen. I didn’t personally like the Times Square logo/wording popping out, and so I went for a more subtle look.Overall, I am really happy with this and at $40 on sale I am very pleased. It looks great lit up and has gotten plenty of compliments.I think you will enjoy this.

Awesome detail and a great gift!
As an avid fan of puzzles and building things I bought one of these to try something new. I love it! Not only was it fun and challenging to assemble, the motion sensor light is gonna make it look great on my book shelf. Just bought another one for my nephew. Hopefully they come out with some other locations because the quality of this brand was great.

Looks great and good time spent
My Niece really liked it. If you're familiar with these kinds of DIY sets, you make everything with the included items. You will need glue though so pick your favourite kind. It’s so fun than traditional puzzle.

Not recommended!
I’m confused by all the positive reviews. This was a nightmare to put together. Nothing stayed together and required you to glue every piece. Very time consuming and frustrating experience. Other brands of these types of puzzles at least snap together a bit and you can use glue additionally. But the whole structure stays together unlike this one.

Loved this for game night & it looks amazing on my shelf
I love this Time square-themed book nook, especially the cool little details.Every time I glance at it on my shelf, the mini scene reminds me of all the fun I had walking down the streets of NYC with my friends. Seriously, the attention they paid to it is kind of mind-blowing. Feels like I have a slice of New York right on my shelf. This book nook thing has quickly become a convo starter and a new addition to game night so it took us about 2hrs to build together.10/10, would definitely recommend and look forward to more designs!

Cute but way too easy
It is CUTE, but wayyy too easy! So if you are an avid dollhouse maker, this set is literally all wood pieces that snap together. It took me well under 24 hours to finish. Every once in a while I splurge on a more expensive set to hopefully keep me busy for a few weeks. But unfortunately I splurged on this set and it was much too easy for me... However, it is very cute! So of you want something that's cute and simple to build. This set is for you!)
