These clamps are not meant to be used to jump start a car. I purchased them to get power from my battery for a small air pump. The pump came with a cigarette or auxiliary plug but I don’t like using those for anything using more power than what a cell phone uses. To me, the wires in those are not that big for something using 8-10 amps of power. They clamps are perfect for my application. The wires are actually larger than the air pumps.The plastic sleeve do slip down when you pull on them but a couple drops of super glue on each one fixed that.

I was able to use these clamps to make my own portable booster for my vehicle. They are easy to use and clamp on really tight with no fear of them slipping off while Jumpstarting a vehicle.

This is strictly light duty. Fortunately, I'm using it with a 9 amp battery to jump my generator. I don't anticipate using it for anything else. I'd be afraid of it burning up with a larger battery. Nevertheless, for my purposes it seems to work just fine.

i bought these to extend a battery charger lead they worked great the wire is aluminum & a little stiff but it looks to be 14 gauge i would not use these as jumper cables as the wire is too small for that. the clamps have good spring tension & grab well the wire is soldered to the clamp not a cheep crimp fitting

These are an excellent and affordable option for solar fence energizers. I purchased an entry-level energizer for a goat pen and was trouble to see that it didn't come with leads. The size of the "ring" on these clips was unclear to me, but I figured I could easily snip it off and wrap the wire around the hot/ground terminals. Imagine my joy when I received these leads and the rings fit like a glove over the posts! They don't quite clamp onto the fence wire as perfectly as a purpose-built leadset, but they're more than serviceable. I might have to grab a few spares for the future!

They are in real life exactly as pictured. The clamps are pretty flimsy, the PVC cover is loose and prone to slip off. The wires seem to be ok quality and they're soldered into the clamp instead of just friction fit. They are exactly what they look like and what you would expect for $9.Not for any heavy duty use and if I had to use them every day they would almost certainly fail within the first month. But if you just need them for occasional DIY project, they get the job done.A note, there is no way these wires are 30A rated. They are stranded copper, wire stripper says between 16 and 18 gauge.

Perfect for solar fence chargers! I feel like these insulated wires will last much longer than your typical red & green insulated wires. Those average red & green alligator clamps (that come with some of the solar chargers) become brittle and eventually break. These clamps are stronger & should last a lot longer. It’s nice knowing I don’t have to worry about going to a hardware store to fix a connector on my box haha.
