True Percale
Summer, 2021I bought these and wrote this review two years ago. As I lay on these sheets this morning, getting in one last stretch, I once again appreciated the softness, sleek smooth feel, the "crispness" as some of you have called it. These have definitely washed and softened into MY grandmother's all cotton, percale sheets.______So many are discussing Grandma's sheets in these reviews, then complaining that these sheets aren't like Grandma's. Well, I AM grandma. I DID sleep under my grandma's sheets as a child in the south (your great great grandma?) The problem you have is that you didn't sleep under Grandma's sheets while they were new. You slept under them after they were "broken in." Percale starts as somewhat scratchy. After multiple washes, they begin to soften up. They become softer, then, even smooth to the point of slippery. Totally heavenly. Good percale will last a long, long time. I have percale sheets that I bought 50 yrs. ago.Don't be fooled by the number of threads per square inch. There are only so many quality cotton threads that can be smashed into a square inch. To get more, you have to make the threads thinner (think...micro...fiber.) If the threads are thinner, the sheet becomes thinner, wimpier. Also, you lose the space between threads for the heat exchange that percale is known for (percale is cooler to sleep under.) A good quality cotton percale sheet will have about 200-300 threads/sq. in. - at most. And, if they ARE cotton, they WILL wrinkle, the same as your grandma's did. That's the nature of cotton. The wrinkles didn't appear to be so strong because she hung them on the clothes line and pulled out the wrinkles before they dried. I bet your grandma's sheets smelled like sunshine, right?By the way, your grandma's sheets were probably white and made from cotton grown in the southern U.S. You won't find grandma's sheets in queen size or king size - that's new to the second half of the 1900's. Which brings me to the reason I'm buying these queen size percale sheets. These sheets have all of those qualities you remember about your grandma's well worn sheets. Something additional these sheets have is a HUGE top sheet with deep cornered fitted sheet and large pillowcases. No longer do I have to buy a king set for my queen bed, then modify the bottom sheet, or buy a queen set and begin the nightly tug of war with my husband who wraps himself in the top sheet leaving me high and dry. Most queen top sheets in box stores are 92" x 102". They pull out at the bottom of today's thicker mattresses and barely cover the mattress on the sides. Compare the size of these top sheets. These sheets will soften after a few washes and uses. You have something Grandma didn't have - a washing machine/ dryer and choices of color. Don't give up on these awesome sheets. Buy them, use them, and wait for what happens with time - the cool, crisp, smooth to the point of slipperiness feeling you remember about Grandma's sheets. You'll be able to enjoy them for 50 yrs. or more. Soon, your grandchildren will fondly remember your percale sheets. :)Edit: I got blood on my pillowcase from a scratched mosquito bite. I put stain remover on it, washed it in the washer in cold water with 1/4 cup of bleach and soap and the blood came out completely with no effect on the color of the blue sheets. No shrinkage, no warping, no fading, continuing to soften. Btw - the pillowcases are more than large enough for a queen sized pillow. At the time I bought these, I also bought the Pinzon 300 organic. I've been using both equally (different colors) and the organic sheets are softening up sooner. These ARE softening up but the others are getting there sooner. If softness is a deal breaker, consider the organic percale.

Great sheets and a great value
I loved these sheets so much that I wound up buying four sets, two for me and two for my son. All but one set were previously owned. I bought the first set thinking it would probably be not so great but the price was so good. The set was like brand new. The second set was also previously owned and came tied with a beautiful green ribbon like a pretty gift. Both were like brand new and heavy cotton percale with the crisp, cool feel I was looking for. I bought the yellow brand new for my son when he traded up for a king size bed and then sent a previously owned white like mine to him. He could see no difference and I saved about twelve dollars a set. I like my set better than the sheets I bought at twice the price from a sheet specialty store. I will probably buy even more sets. Edit: For some reason, these sheets have changed. No longer crisp but more like sateen sheets. Just bought 2 new sets and thinking of returning because of this change. They're not even heavy like the earlier sets.Feel more like microfiber. Very disappointing.

Drifting away in a human cocoon of sleeping happiness -- on the first set, anyway, sigh.
Update: Ordered another set with happy anticipation but disappointed and changed my five stars to four. I'm guessing the folding machine caused the numerous small brown stains, but most of them came out in the wash when pre-treated with Shout. Still great sheets for the price but quality control is slightly lacking.Original review: Not quite the Holy Sheet Grail I had been seeking, but I eagerly look forward to burrowing into these heavyweight comfort sheets every night, and often during the day as well. As others have said, they do have a slight nap so that the top sheet adheres to the bottom sheet instead of crisply sliding across, so making the bed can be a bit of a challenge, and I find myself fluffing them up to tunnel my way around in them.. They are not scratchy in the least and do become smoother with repeated washing. They do wrinkle but self-smooth once they are on the bed -- I did iron the top edge of the top sheet once to make sure that the wrinkles did not set in a particular way. With a heavy cotton blanket on top they are warm and cozy in a way that flannel sheets can't pull off and sateen sheets don't have a prayer of approaching. The breathability makes me think they will be good summer sheets as well. The top sheet on the Queen size is generous, and the fitted sheet has deep pockets (but I do wrestle with it a bit as I have added a talalay topper and super thick mattress pad -- yes, I'm spoiled.) I was in search of super crispy-smooth sheets but it turns out what I really wanted was these Pinzon percale sheets which are very luxurious, especially for the price.Edit/Update: Back to say that with repeated washing the slight nap has all but disappeared, leaving a smooth crispy surface for dreaming. Turns out they are great summer sheets, they seem "breathable" and don't cling. I'm ordering a second set because I don't like any of my old sheets any more. I hope they don't really take four months for delivery, but if they do they'll be worth the wait.

la calidad de la tela y precio
si son de puro algodón no del mejor pero al fin algodón que es lo mejor para dormir sobretodo en tiempos de calor y sabemos que el algodón es muy resistente ademas de suave e higiénico y fresco.

Just what I was looking for.
Wanted to have those crisp cotton sheets that I remembered from my childhood. These are the ticket! Yes they wrinkle. They will wrinkle when you sleep on them. Who cares? Cover them up with your comforter or duvet and enjoy a fresh, crisp sheet to sleep on. I will likely purchase another set in a different colour.Edited January 2020: just bought my second set of these, in the straw colour. Just as happy with them. My original set has been used non-stop for over a year and is still beautiful. No wearing, pilling, fraying, or weakened seams. They wash and dry extremely well. I highly recommend these sheets if you like true crisp cotton sheets!

Crisp, Cool & Comfy
Originally I wanted to get a different pinzon set that I had purchased years before and loved, but it had nearly gone up 2.5x the price. So I was looking at different options and found this set. I got the spa blue one and I am loving how comfy and cool this sheet set is (my main issues with most sheet sets is that I get to warm). I think that the price was reasonable and I love the deep pockets so that they stay in place. I even prefer these to my organic cotton 1200 thread set (which was much more $$$). If these go on sale even more I'll purchase another set.

Bastantes suaves
